I would want the Leafs to go all in on players that actually move the needle. None of the rumored available players move the needle at all (minus Rantanen). Im not trading Cowan/Minten/Danford for Scott Laughton. Minten will be a better 3rd line C next year.

If Laughton were to cost a top prospect I'd throw up in my mouth a bit but also, Tre has worked this team into a spot where there are obvious holes that must be filled.

Leaving with nothing and expecting your team to want to go deep with the Holmberg/Domis at 3C is not an option.

They've maybe given themselves a 2-3 year window to shoot for the moon with the ages on the blueline, and that's a big reach with Tanev who it clearly all revolves around.

21 - they got foligno - which everyone wanted but he got injured (covid year, not sure if that hinder the leafs other options or not)

I agree, those holes should have been filled in the offseason. The Reaves signed was wasted space which should have been directed in the proper place. But whats worse, making a bad trade and it really not making any difference, or standing pat.

Id choose to stand pat if the cost is high, even though Id really like to see a move.

He has been healthy this year, and has been bad. Cozens is way higher ceiling at this point. Norris will end up being a find 2nd line centre. Certainly not a 2nd line centre on a contending team. JMO ofcourse, but thats what I see.

Knies is already better then both those players, obviously wouldnt trade him for them. Maybe the Leaf fit wasnt there, but I feel like we could have given more then Norris.
