They know as soon as he’s dealt is going to be gauged against what Chuck gave up for him. Kinda need to ask for the moon to save face.
Honestly though they have little to offer today besides Risto and Laughton. Need to try to and fleece the league for them. Price absolutely needs to come down to today though or Danny’s goose is cooked. - hereticpride
Poehlig and Hathaway can help a teams 4th line.
No GM is being fleeced for either of those 2 players. They would have been moved by now if that was the case. Other teams have pivoted elsewhere. Flyers players are 100% a teams fallback option. |

I don't disagree at all. Flyers know the poopstorm they’re gonna have to deal with getting pennies on chuck’s dollar for Risto. Danny is praying for a miracle that very likely isn’t going to materialize. |

To me that is an easy sell. Blame the prior GM as that gets you off the hook in a way. |

Yep, they chose a neophyte manager w a Wharton certificate that cut his teeth under the worst Flyers GM ever and a TV color analyst to lead the team. Can't argue... |

If I was Briere, these teams looking to add Ratannen that have passed, I would be calling and asking if they would want a Konecny. He is cheaper, already signed long term and a hair younger. |

That would take courage that I fear this regime does not have. Btw, I feel the same way. |

I do hope Briere has the courage to at least take away some of Torts' favorite toys today. It would give me a glimmer of hope. Going forward, there is going to need some clarity how much influence Torts has on the roster after leaving the bench. My sense is he will not be happy just being some type of Senior Consultant like Bob Murray. This current structure is part of the problem. Too many voices with influence over the NHL roster.

I am a huge TK fan but it was not time to extend him. He needed to be moved for assets and cap space. He has been horrid since December. I said it before but folks were talking about him hitting 40 goals back in Nov/Dec then he fell off and still only sits at 22.
I feel like every year he hits a slump at the end of the year. I understand he is not exactly playing w the most talented players but he needs to be much better. I just don't see DB making calls. #Culture

If the coach does move into a Management role, I can see a power struggle with Briere. Torts reports to Hilferty. |

If any of them had any balls they won't allow that to happen. In no way should Torts have any say once he is gone - whenever that is.

I don't hate the player at all. Just feel there is a lack of looking 3,4,5 years out. This is one of the better seller markets in recent years it seems with what has been moved. There should be no holding back for the Flyers.

Exactly, and I really think there is a power struggle going on right now. When a new head coach comes in, is it now a 4 position structure that reports directly to the Governor Hilf? I do not know, but I do not believe Torts is willingly riding off into the sunset getting dogs adopted (noble cause, btw) and gets a call from GM every once in awhile to ask his opinion on a potential player available in a trade.

In 5 hours we’ll know the true direction of this team. Status quo? Non-playoff team but none top pick team? No openings for young defensemen like Andrae and Bonk to earn? No blue chip prospects in the pipeline? Still no center for MM. and while on that subject, ya can’t just get any center, the Flyers needs to find the right center for MM. doesn’t need to be the fastest or flashiest, needs to be the right fit with a high hockey IQ and maybe a solid power forward at LW for that line.
It’s not all available at the TDL but throughout the hockey year, Briere has failed to make such moves. There was a time when Rossi was rumored to be available. There are rumors that Byfield and Clarke COULD be available. My biggest concern is whether DB has done his due diligence on all these potential moves throughout the year and not just leading g to the TDL.

Pretty obvious teams interested in a center have pivoted, due to the asking price for Laughton as he is barely even a center anymore at this point in his career.
This has the potential for an all time classic blunder folks. Get your popcorn ready. |

That’s all we can do at this point. We should all come up with a drinking game for this board. For every post-3 o’clock post, we gotta take a shot. 🥃 |

If they could somehow get Clark and Byfield out of LA, I'd be over the moon. I think that is wishful thinking with this management group. A shame too, because Blake feels like the GM others can take advantage of |

Flyers update. Big ask on Ristolainen. 1st, prospect and player. Decent chance he stays in Philly. Hard to replace. Teams that missed on Nelson are circling on Laughton and the price is a haul.

Imagine a bottom 10 team worrying about having to replace Risto. This right there shows you they think in the next 2 years then can compete.
Flyers fans should be deeply concerned this is their line of thinking. How much further are you falling in the standing without Risto? If you fall at all.
Nelson is 10x the player Laughton is, yet they want a haul.
I have to imagine most teams flat out laugh at the Flyers. |
