I didn’t watch the press conference. He can say that and it sounds great but does he know he added tippet? He added konecny? Those are adds, and it wasn’t the right time to add them either
- Just5

Agree it wasn't the right time, but you do need some players playing and some of them are going to get paid

Well after watching the press conference, very sure Luchanko will be on the roster next season. Not a surprise, hopefully someone other then Rocky is running the forwards next season.

With 2 retention slots filled thru next season, pretty apparent the only way Risto gets moved will be retaining no salary.

They could still retain. Outside of Risto who do they really need to retain on to move?

Coots and Sanheim are going nowhere
Seeler has a NTC for 1 more season
Flyers probably wont trade Michkov, Tippett, TK, Brink, Foerster, York or Drysdale

No one else makes enough that retaining is necessary The only guys who could be poitentially dealt at the deadline are Poehling and Deslaurier. Only one may get some interest

Not a fan of the politics on the hockey board either.

I feel the moves DB made were meh at beast, so there's some complaining for you.

- rayc16

Thanks and great to see you are still on here! We'd all love a better haul but as has been stated, our players aren't that good so I'm happy we are moving on and realizing that the plan of the past isn't working. The experts on here said the Flyers will stand pat and never move on from their hero Laughts, and he's gone. I'll give DB a B+

I should have been more clear about retaining for Risto. They have 1 slot going into the next deadline so in theory they could be a 3rd team in a trade to retain and get a draft pick. After the '26 season, as of now the team will have no dead money on the cap. Risto's contract still has 2 more seasons. So retaining on Risto adds dead cap to the '26-'27 season.

Thats if they have Cap space next season. The got 68 mill tied up right now. Thats 14 mill in cap space approx. They will sign Cates, Foerster, York and Pelletier. They will also may try to make an addition via trade or Free Agency

I hope they don't sign Pelletier. He is a poor man's version of Frosty. I'd rather have Frosty based on what I've seen of Pelly so far. We have more than enough small forwards who lack physicality.

Lmao. Open eyes wider. He’s not making any moves. None. Zilch. Nada.

Stayin alive, where are you? You said DB has no guts to make any moves. They might not be the best moves but he traded the "Room" who a majority on here said will never be traded. What are your thoughts?

I thought next year's cap will be over 95 million, so they should start with 27 million in space (according to Puckpedia). Maybe I'm missing something. Foerster will probably get a 2 yr bridge deal. Cates will be a very interesting negotiation. He is 1 year from being a UFA, signing him to a multi year deal, they will have to buy UFA year- how much will that cost? York is 24- looking at a 3 yr deal to get him to UFA status. See I believe he will be traded because Andrae is NHL ready and cheaper to play as a LH Dman. Pelletier would get tendered, whatever the minimum salary required. They might bury Fedotov in the AHL next season, which will save them some money.

Well Briere did make a few trades. Did better than expected for Laughton. The other two deals were ok. Nothing earth shattering but the big moves for a number 1 C and D generally will have to happen in the summer. I too doubt Briere’s guts to make aggressive moves but these moves do help the team in the future.

Boston did very well. Time will tell if it pans out. Will Marchand return in the summer?

He probably will, he likes it in Boston

Laughton is a 4C or can play on your 3rd line wing in a pinch. He’s not a 3C which seems to get thrown around. Good luck but he’s one step up from a plug. Outside of one game he has 7 goals on the year. Helps the PK
- Just5

If you saw the reaction from pundits on TSN and the nhl network when they found out the return was a 1st and a prospect it was clear no one thought Laughton was a game changer and worth the assets returned. I think Briere did well to get what he got for him. My hope is by moving out Laughton and Kuzmenko that will be just enough to get the Flyers into the top 5 or close to it. I really feel this is their only path to getting that 1C.

Seems a few teams had to recognize it was time to sell, teams that were better than the Flyers, no recent cup for their efforts, off to a rebuild or retool. Only 1 team wins the cup, the rest are just trying, however they try.

Yea it’s basically the only path. I looked at ufa centers the next two years. Zero options there. Danny I don’t see offer sheeting anyone. It has to be this or the next draft.

Couldn’t come to terms with on an extension. Be interesting if he becomes like G and finishes career elsewhere.

I think he did ok … but let’s not pretend these trades weren’t low hanging fruit… that was a crazy sellers market… I honestly think they will regret not moving Risto to TO for a similar package Carlo got… true maybe TO didn’t want him.. but again we apparently are now done the funniest rebuild ever and as Brière says they are going for the playoffs next year. No 1st line C, no # 1 D, and below average goal tending. Ya I see the playoffs written all over this team…lol

Let’s see how Pelletier plays the last 20 games or so…. Playing with Dlow and Poehling isn’t exactly putting and offensive guy in a great position to succeed.

seen enough of Ryan P, he is what he is, fast skater, limited hands, falls down a lot, short circuits plays, 4th liner and easily replaced.

I don't mind waiting another year to move RR, he has been progressing, a late bloomer if you will, as long as he stays on the current path, one less year, he should be able to be moved.

I think DB will be looking for a team who will finally want to re-tool or re-build, or needs a shake up to find his 1C or 1D, there should be a good bit of remaking going on in the off-season, is there a 1C or 1D out there to be had in trade, most likely not, feels like DB might settle for a 1C or 1D that is ranked 33-38 in the league.

this board is a shadow of itself, like our team, but it appears to still to have the most comments by far.

Mid players turned front office plugs sticking up for mid players who get nowhere who get brought back into the organization to be mid players turned front office plugs who stick up for mid players who get nowhere…🔁

I wish the “sell the team” stuff would take off again. This franchise is headed absolutely nowhere with the philosophy Comcast requires of its GMs. Michkov alone ain’t changing anything. Bedard alone can’t even get Chicago out of the basement. I don’t think Briere has any clue how much more talent this team needs.
