I'm far from a hater and try to be optimistic, but it is pretty pathetic. I have no problem with Laughton but the whole "heart on his sleeve" and other cliches are brutal. It has to suck to be an announcer and try to hype up this team.

This is a young man league now. The prime of the average to good players (where Tk resides) is roughly are 24/25- 27/28. Give or take make a few years. Signing any average to good player turning 29 years old to an 8 year extension is simply a stupid mistake. Those terms/age should only be considered for elite players.

It is fascinating how much Torts must dislike Andrae. His top 6 is set in stone. I can understand York, Sanheim, and Drysdale penciled in every night for different reaaons. However, the other 3 slots cannot be touched with someone who has shown promise now stuck in the AHL again.

They won’t. I’m also old. I watch other teams more than ever. Fortunately for me I’m not in Philly stuck with only them. I can easily travel when I want to see other teams or hockey related things. Philly will always be my favorite team but I’ve accepted they will not win a cup in my lifetime as long as Cumcast owns them.

It does seem though that the amount of praise heaped on him, starts to border on sycophantic at some point. We get it, his teammates like him, but it’s also a business and Flyers need to move him while he still has value because the focus needs to be for next year and beyond.
