I am a little surprised. We had some deep talks with Anaheim and Buffalo throughout the year. Guess things didn't line up at this Deadline so far. I am also surprised we didn't take a run at spending some picks for young talent. Then again we have less than 30 minutes left.

I do assume any other trades would have a player coming back. Maybe moving out a pick for one. I mean with the previous talk Rak and Karlsson had interest from western teams so I am still holding out hope we make a big deal last minute and the players could get to the game quickly tonight.

I think they liked the idea of a vet mentor next to Kolyachonok now and Pickering in the near future over someone like Shea or St. Ivany.

It looks like practically every one of our players were on front loaded contracts. Is there a specific reason for this? I get it makes them a bit more attractive trade wise, but its not like we were planning on that 2 years ago specifically.

I think players like getting more of their money up front. It's to the point you have to just to keep up.
