Yeah I got that too from my work machine, it's fine. It's a legitimate site. Speaking of it:

Alexander Romanov is drawing interest from the Bruins and Flyers, with both clubs exploring trade options ahead of the #NHLDraft. Could he be on the move? Full update here ⤵️
Maybe Romanov is in play instead of Dobson. - Gabe Athaus
I would love to see the Isles figure out a way to draft Hagens, but not at the cost of either of their top-pairing d-men........especially considering that Schaefer is at least a season away from playing in the NHL.
I guess that pick, even if it's outside the top 5, will cost more than Engvall and any rights they might retain to Josh Ho-Sang. But still.....

I definitely don't wholesale endorse the idea of trading Romanov or Dobson, but there are shades of gray
Maybe they own some of Josh Ho Sang's rap album rights
I don't remember if it was posted, but Ho Sang is now playing for the Florida Everblades. Maybe some day he will have another shot at the AHL. - JohnScammo
According to reports, Pageau could have been playing for the Stanley Cup this spring. Lamoriello denied a trade that would have sent him to Edmonton for a first-round pick. He did not want to retain half of his salary for the remainder of the contract, which Edmonton needed to fit under the cap. Darche could retain half of Pageau’s salary to get a better pick, if that is his priority. - Gabe Athaus
Thanks for the info.
I wouldn't have retained half his salary either to be honest.
He certainly helped the everglades. They won 3 ECHL championships in a row.
What an incredible Talent with amazing skill and hockey IQ.
Can't believe the Islanders didn't give him a chance

Meanwhile, Snow's other 1st round pick in 2014, Michael DalColle, the 5th overall pick, played this past season in the DEL. Snow-Job at his best.

The Iserlohn Roosters
Can't even crack a point per game playing in the DEL. What a pick at 5th overall instead of Nylander or Ehlers

Crazy really but just goes to show that some drafts and their picks are crap shoots.
18 year olds are babies and it’s hard to gauge
their talent vs the NHL game. Of course there are picks that are more obvious than others as far as their futures in the NHL. But again not a guarantee you’re filling your needs. In the same breath teams have given up on their picks only for them to develop into NHL player elsewhere.

Not at all a fan of trading Romanov within the division.
$11 million for a defenseman whose defense wasn't good last season???
How do you say, "Trade me" without saying "Trade me"? - JohnScammo
In fairness, Seravalli does say that it's obviously just a starting point for Dobson's side . But to me that says he is looking for his contract to be closer to $10M than $9M. I've always operated under the assumption that his deal would come in somewhere around $9.5M, give or take a little. $10M is....fine? People will scoff at the number but the cap is going to go up almost another $20M by the 2027-28 season and then all the sudden that deal doesn't look as bad as it may seem now.
For reference:
A $10M AAV with the cap of $113.5M is 8.8% of the total cap. 8.8% of the present-day cap ($95.5M) would be $8.36M AAV. So, if $8.36M for Dobson right now would look OK to fans, $10M in the 2027-28 season should be the same.
