Told from a team source that "it's fair to say" something happened between Cam York and John Tortorella in Toronto, that contributed to the coach's dismissal on Thursday morning. Was put to me that "they probably both crossed the line."

Yeah. I think if there’s an opportunity to trade every single one of our picks this draft for players Lou looks at as improvements to this roster he’s going to do it. He’s going to try and build the roster through trades and signings. The problem with that of course is the latter. We have a problem signing players via FA so that leaves trades as the most viable option. That’s where those picks come into play and that leaves the high end young player part in the dust. - Cptmjl
Not being able to sign the coveted UFA in league forces you to go from money to assets. Would surprise me if Lou were to trade the picks in this year's draft for players. No. It would also not surprise me if he had to trade some picks with the bad contracts to clear the board. The problem with this cycle is that your prospect pool suffers.
This becomes an issue when your team has injuries, you are at the cap ceiling, and you have no one to bring up. This has been the vicious cycle that has been Lou for the past four years.
Then to add to that, FOMO, he signs players that are he to ridiculous contracts. Be it term or value.
Again, there needs to be a balance from ECHL, AHL all the way to NHL, to be consistent contender in this league.

There’s always a market for 1st round picks. Just a question of what the value is. I believe you may be putting way too much into this “weak draft” thought process. There have been plenty of drafts that were thought to be that turned out being the antithesis of exactly that. I would be ecstatic if he kept all of the picks in this draft. If he wants to trade the picks there will be options it’s just a question if any of them fit what he’s looking for. |

This team has no shot if Sorokin is not on the top of his game. |

He probably wants one back maybe two from what I saw. The defense hung him out to dry completely on two of the goals. They didn’t lose that game due to Sorokin. They lost because their defense is atrocious. Has been the entire season. As a matter of fact it’s been pretty awful for going on four years. |

For this team to win on a consistent basis he has to be the best goalie the NHL has seen in its history every, single, game. The team wasn’t good before injuries with a healthy lineup. They are exponentially worse now. Not really sure what people are expecting from a bad team that’s playing without their top two players. |

This game is a microcosm of the season. Too little, too late. |

The first two goals he should have had. The others were on the five bananas in front on him.
