Did anyone expect anything different from Duclair this season? Guy is horrible. - streaks
Yes, a lot of people on this very thread did. |

There is a reason he bounced around so much. He did not deserve a 4 year contract. This is the Patrick Cpt wanted to see. |

Duclair is another example of the very flawed UFA’s the Islanders have signed.

I just want Patrick to go scorched Earth on these players.

It won't really matter. It's Lou's roster. Roy can only work with what he has.

At this point the last hope I have for this season is getting to see Ovechkin break tie and/or break Wayne's record in person |

I agree but it would at least be good entertainment. Have to wonder if Patrick is going to walk if big changes are not done. |

Realistically what kind of big changes can Lou make happen? There’s not a whole helluva lot the guy can do. He has some cap space to work with but not enough to make sweeping changes. We all know we aren’t a beacon for UFA’s. The guy painted himself in a corner with stupid contracts and he’s ready to give another one to Palmieri. Money and term mean nothing it’s stupid no matter what it is. It’s just facilitating mediocrity. |

I meant Lou being one of the big changes. There would be no reason for the owners to keep Lou with the playoffs not happening. Why should fans continue to buy tickets next year without big changes? |

There was no reason for the fans to buy tickets this season or last. Anyone who thought this team was going to make noise last season or this season just wasn’t paying attention to what this team actually is and has been for four years now. My point being up to this stage it doesn’t seem to be motivation for the owners to make a change up too now. |

Missing the playoffs is another level and harder to ignore and especially when just Nelson was traded. |

Meh. This team wasn’t a legit playoff team bfr that trade. That trade made it exponentially tougher for them to make it. Nelson is a valuable player to this team I wouldn’t diminish that. Bottom line is I highly doubt the owners are firing Lou. 😆 |

Still a huge deal missing the playoffs in the NHL and for a vet team. Why is it Islander owners act like it's impossible to replace a GM and there are no other possible candidates?

The only people that had any expectations for this team to make the playoffs let alone do anything if they did were some Islander fans. That thought process was driven by pure homerism without any semblance of objectivity. Vet team or not they aren’t good. Period. |

If even some playoff revenue is important to the owners, they should not be happy with missing the playoffs. I thought this was the pushback in terms of doing any sort of re-tool? |

Forget the playoff push, has Palmieri signed his extension yet? That’s what’s important here. |
