They could look to trade Pageau and move Barzal back to center and go Barzal-Horvat-Ritchie down the middle I guess. Just creates another hole RW though. - Gabe Athaus
They better fire Patrick now if this is going to be the roster. I would not mind Barzal back at center. I'm not expecting a total roster overhaul, but they need to give us something more than the same.

Cappy would mess it up and get enough points.

If you can get a good return on JGP no problem trading him.
I do think Barzal has been much better at wing. |

I won't be at all surprised if Roy stays. I thought Roy was such a strange choice from Lou, considering their philosophies are completely different. It was a terrible match, since Lou prefers system-oriented two-way grinders whereas Roy favors an open game. Naturally the incoming GM's philosophy will determine Roy's fate, but he could stick around. I'm not sold on him in the least, but he probably deserves a chance to work with a more offensively gifted roster (whenver that shows up)
As mentioned prior, I'd really like the Isles to do everything in their power to resign DeAngelo. Ultimately I think his contract could be a major bargain and give the Isles leverage to move away from one of the other dmen.
If Roy stays, I think Mayfield is in for a rough time. At this stage I'd love to find a taker for Pelech, who I think is spent. Dobson's upcoming contract concerns me enough that I wouldn't be above listening for home run offers. Fact is, Romanov is just about the only dman I'd be totally committed to keeping. |

sounds that way. What a shame. I guess they'll just mirror the tv coverage....

Pelech is the only one of Lou's defensive signings who sees his full NTC convert to a partial NTC (16 team list). I'd rather move someone off the right side but given that Pulock and Mayfield still have their full NTC's in effect, Pelech is the most likely of those three to go. |

You dare call Neil a dinosaur?
I love the idea of Neil coming back and making good, but he cannot be a top choice. - ses111
Hard pass on Smith. I get that you liked his 40 day tenure, but he shouldn't even be in consideration.

Will not happen. I do not think even I could hire him. Someone new like Brisson or Spezza would be better. Neil has been out of the game for too long and the Islanders need to move forward. I would not mind Neil teaching how to sign FA's though. |

I also would not be surprised if Patrick stays. Patrick was a strange choice for Lou and maybe it was Collins. It's hard to be sold on Patrick at this point. I'd like to see what he could do with a better roster. I do not want the new GM to be forced to keep Patrick though.
I would also like to keep Tony D. I'd love to move on from Pelech and Pulock, but that's very doubtful. Mayfield would have a tough time under Patrick. |

Couple of other names on here I haven't heard - Gabe Athaus
Pridham or Darche as GM with Brisson as President would be nice. Holland seems overrated and I have no interest in Bergevin. |

Darche, Brisson and Roy are all French Canadian, not that it means much, but it’s a connection. |

No doubt, but disappointing nonetheless. Every now and then, when the game was on a TV station that I didn't subscribe to, I would tune in the radio broadcast. I read online somewhere that the Islanders may be the first NHL team to eliminate radio altogether. Some teams simulcast their games on TV and radio. That's better than nothing, but I would prefer listening to the radio broadcast, because they have to give you more detail than the TV broadcast.

My question to the group is do you trust Collins to make those decisions. The reason I ask that on another board people are losing their minds. They believe Collins is not qualified to make the decision. Some have pointed to the firing of the radio crew.
As for me the firing of the radio is what it is. Isles radio has been a joke for years. I have a feeling that they are going to stream the games via the internet. It won't cost them anything. Or we could listen to the oppositions station.
Anyway, I have no issue with Collins deciding things. |

I don't care about the radio broadcast. I may have listened to it once while I was driving home from work.
I literally care less about the radio broadcast than I do about watching the pee-wee kids complete between periods.

From Staple Hearing #Isles also made a big change on the broadcast side:
Longtime radio voices Chris King and @GregPickerHere were let go. Team may not have a radio broadcast going forward.
No two people more devoted to the team than Kinger and Greg.
That sucks. I know some didn't like King. I've spent many a trip to VA listening to their broadcasts. They will be missed.....by me at least - keaner17
I didn't listen much. Basically just in the car occasionally. Need more info though. Was this a team decision or did Hofstra decide to bail? |

One positive about Drury if you’re a Ranger fan is he’s active. He’s always making moves to try and help his team. He doesn’t just “believe in his room” without adjustment. I would want the isles GM to be active. - kindlyrick
He destroyed the presidents trophy cup team in a year. Disastrously active I would call it. HE SUCKS! |
