Kieffer Bellows ended a two-year goal drought vs the Sharks last night, scoring the go-ahead goal for the Predators in the third period.

The 2016 first-round pick last scored on March 25, 2023 for the Flyers.

While we're talking about Islanders prospects from BU who are billed as high-end goal scorers:

My projections see him as a Bellows-light type.

Jokes aside, Bellows had 7 goals in 34gp and Wahlstrom had 8 in 36gp. Eiserman is clearly already a better scorer, including being a PPG player at the World Juniors in pretty limited minutes. Bellows had the one big WJC tournament but that was as an overager, so context is important there. Wahlstrom was below average at two consecutive tournaments.

I think the kicker with Eiserman is going to be how his play away from the puck is. If he can just "not be a major liability" then he's probably going to be a very good goal scorer at the pro level.

Yeah everything I’ve read has said that was his one knock. I’ve also read that he’s made big strides improving that part of his game. Need some of these kids to start turning into actual players for us. The way it looks now those picks we have will more than likely be traded at the draft. Lou not trading Palmieri tells you all you need to know as far as that’s covered. If there’s a buyer they’ll be gone.

Forgot I saw this last night from Staple. This would be....astounding. Exponentially more so if it happens and they don't fire Lou

It's hard to see this happening with Lou at the helm. I guess he could do it, it just doesn't seem like something he would do.

That’s incredible. Engvall was a completely, obvious, avoidable mistake. Mayfield the year we missed the playoffs could’ve been traded for a good return. Instead he was resigned to this albatross of a contract. Now he’s getting ready to do the same thing with Palmieri. 😆

How does Lou not get fired just for these moves?

On the hook for 2 million per year for a decade for two players recently signed that are no longer in the lineup. Well that’s kind of… Holy sh!t if I were an owner forget about firing him I would kill him.

It may depend on how much sway Roy holds with ownership. The fact that they've both been regularly healthy scratched tells you what he thinks of the both of them.

Patrick may not be an all-time great coach, and he makes some strange decision but look at what he has had to put up with. Not to mention, Lou undermining him with forcing Martin on him and calling Pierre back up.

I said it with lambert. Impossible to really judge a coach with this lineup. The lineup is the real problem. That’s the GM’s fault.

It would be fascinating to watch, but I don't think Lou would be happy about taking a back seat to Roy.

Maybe it's Lou's idea and he's having an "I (frank)ed up moment". Who knows, but the story is intriguing.

The story is odd. I'm skeptical it's true. However it's fun to discuss.

I have a hard time believing they are buying them out but the reality is we have given up multiple assets to unload contracts. Didn’t resign a young player who is an excellent defenseman to sign aging vets and accommodate what exactly? Here we are. IF and I know it’s a big IF we bought those two out it would be another face palm moment for this organization. The bottom line is we are handcuffed to those two lead weights for six more years. Terrible asset management. Best part is we’re doing it again. I hope Palmieri walks it would be the best for both parties.

In a draft that is viewed by most as thin, maybe he flips what he has this year by moving back and grabbing chips for next year. They are stating that next years second is an extension of the first. That is how deep they are predicting the draft will be.
