Agreed
Think the money on Boes would be better spent elsewhere. A few holes to fill on the forward end. Top 6 winger and potentially 3C unless they feel good with Blueger and Raty in the bottom 6. Doubtful Ehlers would want to play here, but he'd be a great addition. Marner would be fantastic, but probably too expensive and then a real soft team.
I think we see another big trade out of Allvin. |

Well Demko won’t be cashing in huge.
Give Hughes all the time needed is for the best. - Nighthawk
Heard the Oilers were actually asking on Demko wonder if there was anything to that. |

I like Boeser but he's not worth anything north of 7 million per year. He's a slightly more offensive version of DeBrusk who makes 5.5 million a year. |

After not wanting to be part of a rebuild in Calgary, I wonder how Lindholm and Zadorov are feeling about signing long term in Boston. |

Is he? I think he needed Miller. I think they're the same. Brock better on the boards Jake faster. Both good playoff guys |

I'm trying to figure out a good TDL comparable to what Brock should have fetched. Is Brock Nelson a good comparable?
Both are UFAs, Brock Nelson is an older player, assists are not nearly as good as Boeser, but goal production is about same, and Nelson is better defensively.
NYI got a first, good prospect, and some fringe assets, but also had to retain some salary. I'm surprised that Boeser couldn't get something similar or am I overvaluing Boeser and undervaluing Nelson? |

Marchand was only worth a 2nd, so who knows what Boeser was worth.
I'd be pissed if the Canucks traded a 1st for a slow, dumb winger who is a pending UFA. |

He had 29 and 26 goal seasons before Miller arrived in Vancouver, 55 and 56 points. He's fine with any center that's somewhat offensive, but he's definitely not an 8 million dollar a year player. They've massively overpaid Petey already, they need to stop this pattern of overpaying guys. |

IMO contending teams will always value and pay more for a center than a winger, unless the winger is a all-star type of player, which Brock isn't. |

But, by the sounds of it, canucks couldn't even get a first. That's surprising don't you think? If Boeser couldn't get a first yet Nelson got a first and a pretty good prospect, then NYI got a haul for an pending UFA. Good for them.

True, but so did Beauvillier which seems crazy.
Luke Schenn got a 2nd and a 4th. That too seems crazy.
Kuz got a 3rd. Crazy.
TDL is schizophrenic and I don't understand it.

This one in particular.
I really hope they don't re-sign Boeser, that would be so Benningesque. |

Re-signing (which will mean overpay or too long a term) or walking for sweet f uck all are both Benning end results. Another lose/lose situation. |

I agree, another lose/lose situation unless he signs for DeBrusk money.

I'd rather not even offer DeBrusk dollars. Spend the money on a winger with more speed or grit. |

What's going to be available that we can sign? All this BS has worn off the shine of the hockey team and the city itself can only attract so much with it's desirability. The taxes and bloodhound media likely more than offset ... so who do you think we can get? |

He currently second on the team in points. If Boeser goes then the canucks will have to do some amazing work over the summer to find goals and assists. I don't think Garland, DeBrusk, and Pouty are going to cut it without major help. Even with Boeser re-signing, major scoring help is needed.
That whole Miller fiasco was devastating.
Three seasons since Benning and we are no further ahead. |

It should've never reached the level it did. Very poorly handled by management, especially with a new, young captain at the helm. That was allowed to fester for way too long. |

I’m impressed with the D, I actually think we are quite further ahead. Agree we need scoring big time |
