It should've never reached the level it did. Very poorly handled by management, especially with a new, young captain at the helm. That was allowed to fester for way too long.

Agree with that. Miller has to own his poopty attitude, but management knew about it (and from what the ex-players said knew how to deal with it) and didn't handle it correctly.

This team probably would have been better off trading Miller over Horvat when it was reaching that first pressure point.

Have to agree with that. They should’ve taken the Colorado offer and washed their hands of him.

That's an interesting alternative universe scenario to consider.
At the time, Horvat was lambasted as 'soft' and after he was traded JTM had his best season(s).
I can imagine the blowback the team would have received with choosing the 'pillow biter' over the 'alpha'.

He was only labelled that by the genius portion of the Canucks fan base. Hindsight is 20/20, we move with D as our strong point. I’ve always wanted the team built this way and it never has been until now. I’m not at all happy with the forward group but between d and goalie, we’ve got a chance to get going. Need some free agent moves/shake up on offence.

Who's got a better lineup when the dust settles...Colorado or Dallas??

i'm not sure if/when Heiskenan or Seguin return for Dallas.
Has anyone heard if Landeskog is ever returning either??

True.
If Willander and D-Petey can stake a claim next year or two, all the better.
A lot rests on Demko's health imo.
If he can bounce back next year and some rookies step up (DPetey and Likkermaki) the nucks have a chance imo

Hughes elite
Hronek superior
Myers decent
MP decent
EP rookie not enough
Forbert sucks
Julsen sucks
Willander unknown
Did I miss anyone?
That doesn’t say top 6 in the league

I’d take last years d with Zadorov, Cole and Soucey over this group. Plus you still have Ep and Willander to add.

Sad part is, they could be a first round matchup with the current playoff format.

If someone said three years ago we'd be minus Horvat-Miller and left with a 50 point version of Petey well....

Soucy you can take or leave but it's very apparent that losing Big Z and Cole were huge. Hell even losing Lindholm has turned out to be big. This new MNGT group is making the Benning years look like geniuses....

Your bluejackets are having a great day in NY. Miller and Soucy not so much. Minus 5 combined.

Fantilli had himself a game, kid is starting to find his game at the NHL level. Werenski has a legit shot at the Norris. Good young team.

I'm really enjoying this defensive play, keep Hughes on the shelf until he's 100%

Myers is USA. Just DeBrusk and Juulson the remaining Canadians now.

This club is fucked.
