Rantanen vs. Marner? I don't know, it's kind of a wash: Mitch is better defensively, better IQ, Rantanen is more physical, scores more... but one doesn't cost us anything but cap: I would've hated to cough up Knies, Cowan, etc. for him.

He’s the main guy in the dressing room. He’s more outgoing than Matthews and Willy. Everyone loves him. After coaching him for a year, Berube has never once criticized him, or limited his ice time, or done anything to suggest he doesn’t think the world of him.

A lot of people don’t see the game well enough to understand how important the defensive side of the game is, and just how hard it is to be one of the best at it. Marner has continued to grow as a player and as a leader.

He’s not going anywhere.
