Pretty sure it was the same off-season because they won the Presidents trophy with an interim coach but got bounced in the first round and fired him and hired Maurice. Then did the Huberdeau for Tcachuck trade which also had some people scratching their heads based on the season Huberdeau just had.

This is true. Never seen so many home ice losses in consecutive playoffs years. It's actually kinda neat in a way. Home ice advantage is nice, but it shouldn't make you feel safer.

At least the Bruins realized that it was time for a retrofit or rebuild, unlike the Blues or Penguins who just get older and their assets get worth less every year. Boston will rebound after this year, that you can bank on. Extra draft picks and cap room will make them a playoff team in a couple of years.
