He probably is nothing. But damn find out as this season is over and should be about the future. - Striiker
That requires thinking. I’m not sure if that’s Torts strong suit. 😂
But while he’s likely nothing more than a career 4th liner/AHL tweener, he was putting up some decent numbers in Calgary after he got back in the lineup. So what’s the harm in finding out. |

No argument here. Kind of surprised he is not getting a shot at center. They need lots of help there. Abols has no future with this team. Like to see what Pelletier has to offer. |

I wasn’t here when Bill left. Was it some kind of falling out or did he just want to move on?
Either way I don’t really care for Bill’s opinion when it comes to the Flyers anymore. He’s a smart hockey writer for sure but ever since he’s been employed by Comcast he’s handled the franchise with kids gloves. And it’s 10x worse with how he thinks the alumni can do no wrong now that he’s buddy buddy with them. |

Officially, he simply announced it was time for him to go because he was working on another project. Turns out that his project is is how own new blog/site hockeyhotstove.com but it hasn’t gone live yet.

I don't understand why at this point Andrae is sitting, I really don't. At this point, the Flyers have no realistic chance to make the playoffs and should be in full tank mode. Play Nick Deslauriers play 18 minutes at this point. Let Michkov make all the mistakes he wants. At this point, the only thing that matters is getting into position to get the best player the Flyers can get in this draft. Torts has got to give this up and coach appropriately. 17 games left and I honestly hope the Flyers lose all of them. |

Flyers sitting 8th with the bottom 8 starting to get a little distance from the rest of the league. I think 6th is realistic, 5th outside shot, not likely. - Trox88
Yes, I think the Ducks have a chance of finishing ahead of the Flyers, and Nashville is getting hot, but I think 6th is where the Flyers will be. Is that enough to move up in this draft by trading their 1st, Colorado's 1st and York? I think it might. |

The short simple answer is they are not very bright. Terrible at player management.

Bet against the Flyers the rest of the way and my guess is you come out making a nice profit. |

I appreciate the optimism to potentially be able to move up. Unfortunately I believe the only way to move up will be lottery luck. The prospects I like right now (no particular order)- Schaefer, Misa, Martone, Hagens, Eklund, and Frondell. If the Flyers get a shot at any of those players, I will be thrilled. If they cannot draft a center early because the board drops a certain way, so be it. Would be really happy with Martone or Eklund if they drop to the Flyers. I do believe the organization will have McQueen (playing again after an apparent stress facture in his back healed) and Mrkta ranked pretty highly.

You know they will go on a little run at some point that will keep them just outside of what appears to be a clear top 4 players draft. |

It’s almost a given that they somehow pull meaningless wins out of their ass every April but idk. I really hate our current defense. And people will eventually quit on Torts. Could be a recipe for a bunch of loses the rest of the way.
Looking at the remaining games I see ugly loses coming up that could very well send them into a tailspin. After this next game the following 5 games on the schedule are going to be rough. All 5 games are against teams currently in the top 8 of league standings. |

With 17 games to go, the Flyers sit at 62 points. Last season, they finished with 87 points. In the last 17 games last season, they went 5-11-1. Good chance the bottom falls out again in a similar manner. If this happens again, hopefully this will be the end of the current HC. |

The April games are what worry me. Not exactly real tough matchups there.
Here are 6 remaining games they really don’t want to get points in for draft lotto purposes.
2 with Buffalo
2 with Montreal
1 with Chicago
1 with Nashville

They play 4 games in 6 days to end the season. I would expect the team will want to tar and feather Torts by that point. He got away with the antics last year because they were in a playoff race up until the final of the last game. No such motivation is present now.

Hopefully that’s the case and none of this finish strong bs that’s cost the team draft spots countless times in the past. |

In non hockey news does anyone have any clue what the Seattle Seahawks are doing? They were 10-7 this year and just traded both their starting QB and star receiver lol. They pick 18th and they definitely aren’t getting a good QB in that spot this year. Just nuked their whole 2025 season before it even started. |

Good to see Pelletier get 8 minute with 2 slugs again. Why even acquire him if not going to give him a long look the rest of the way.
Just terrible player management, along with a few others. - Striiker
Can’t risk looking like tanking. Same poop year after year. Then the following season oh we gotta see what we have in these young players. Wash rinse repeat |

Hey dumb dumb get this through your thick head. Teams don’t trade those picks. Flyers can offer all 3 of their first and they aren’t moving up even if they have pick 6. Top 1-3 aren’t trading and giving up stud player for 3 possible good player. You understand that?
If you had top pick and could get the stud would you trade it ? No? Then why would other teams do it? And York sucks cock he’s not gotta get poop as through in when it comes to moving into top 3 of a draft. |

It’s important they move on from the current coach.
What’s more important is who they hire to replace him. - Striiker
Sullivan would be a good hire in my opinion. He knows how to coach high end talent.

The Flyers think it is important to win enough games to make the playoffs. That is the real problem with this team. They are not icing a roster focused on getting reps to the players that need them long term.

I do want to give Fedotov an atta boy. He was not an NHL level goalie at the start of this year. He has really cleaned up his game and rebounded. |
