The Flyers think it is important to win enough games to make the playoffs. That is the real problem with this team. They are not icing a roster focused on getting reps to the players that need them long term. - mickel25
Do you think the talent to go on a run to make the playoffs after trading away 4 starters?

I do not. Even with those four players they probably don't. All the more reason they should be getting reps for players they need to find out about.

Good scoreboard last night, Ducks winning, Pitt winning, we need to lose out, would put us 6th, outside shot top 5.
MM, looking at a Leo Carlson, way past him in points, that was luck to get MM, pick 7th and get a top 2 selection, need some lottery love this draft |

There is hope DB sold off this season knowing the team would be worse. Lose out and apply same strategy in off-season. Db has to see even if you get a top pick and a C, it will take time, look at Leo Carlson, guy has almost 1/2 the points as MM, even top picks take time.
Is there a Celebrini at the top of this draft? Even if, flyers should want a top 5 pick again next season. |

Coaches and players play to win. Who do they need to find out about? They know none of the forward prospects are close to ready.

You can still play and coach to win while getting reps for other players. The "winning" culture they currently have hasn't resulted in much winning. So they are basically already trying real hard to win but not. So play some different players and see what you have.

I don't believe there is a Celebrini at the top of this year's draft, but there is a potential top defenseman and at least centers that have a ceiling to be true 1Cs, not generational but good enough. I think Hagens reminds me a lot of Will Smith, who went 4 to SJ in the Michkov draft. I understand Frondell is already a great 200 foot center with a killer shot, so he might be something close to Barkov for example. McQueen is big but has been hurt, otherwise he would be a top 5 pick and still might be. The wildcard is Misa, who is killing it this year in the OHL scoring at over a 2 pt/gm pace. He has high skill and good size, but its not clear whether he is a true center or a winger. Bundy keeps saying the Flyers want Hagens, and if true they will have to be picking in the top 3 to get him. |

I do want to give Fedotov an atta boy. He was not an NHL level goalie at the start of this year. He has really cleaned up his game and rebounded. - mickel25
Well to be fair, they say it takes about 6 to 8 months for a goalie coming from the khl to get use to the nhl. From what goalie coaching says.
Didn't put much stock in it but he looks way better now then he did at the start |

I think he could drop like Wright depending on how the lottery ends up. Right now i think it goes Schaeffer, Misa, Martone. After that their could be some fluctuation depending what teams are there. McQueen I could see going higher with his combination of Size and Skills. Frondell and Desnoyers seem to be rising. All it takes is one team to go off the board.
Big thing is FLyers need to get as close to 4 as possible.

Hey dumb dumb get this through your thick head. Teams don’t trade those picks. Flyers can offer all 3 of their first and they aren’t moving up even if they have pick 6. Top 1-3 aren’t trading and giving up stud player for 3 possible good player. You understand that?
If you had top pick and could get the stud would you trade it ? No? Then why would other teams do it? And York sucks cock he’s not gotta get poop as through in when it comes to moving into top 3 of a draft. - Stayin alive
You cant say 100% with certainty they dont. It 100% depends on the team and where they are. A team like NSH likely doesnt want a full rebuild. They would probably be open to moving the pick for a good haul. It also depends on the talent too. If the scouts think the talent in the top 5 is not as good as what they can get for the pick then they will recommend trading it. If the talent in the top 5 is similar to the top 10 so trading down would be a smart move as well
It is rare but not an impossibility. |

After this draft the Flyers will have 2 potential #1 centers in the system. Then whoever they sign in free agency. This team is on the come.
Briere did say the playoffs are the goal next season I believe.

No but I think the play hard aspect will be very good for them. We just dont want our guys getting comfortable losing like Buffalo. There is more to hockey than talent. Both NSH and BUF have a lot better talent than we do and they are far worse than we are.
People quickly forget we got 3 Firsts and 4 Seconds this season. Thats going to go a long way in the rebuild assuming we do not trade them.

It will be McQueen unless they get top 3/4. They want the size as they severely lack it. They wont be able to help themselves IMO. |

The team is not like Buffalo. Flyers despite losing they are in games and arent getting pumped regularly. Flyers are not losing 10 games straight either |

I keep hearing that. Outside of the Flyers #1 pick the rest of those picks do not have high end value. It's great to have them when you need as much as the Flyers do. But to say those picks (executed or traded) are going to setup the Flyers up for long term success is a stretch.

They are Buffalo. They both stink. They both are a laughingstock. Both on a road to nowhere.

Another center possibility is Desnoyers. They are already have his brother in the organization. I do think Mrtka goes top 6 in this draft. Silayev went 10th last season without knowing exactly when he will come over. Mrtka is in the WHL, no such issue. Flyers have a good shot at pick #6. I think they stay away from McQueen. This regime is very aware of optics to the fanbase. I do not believe they really want the comparison of drafting another center from Branden coming back from injury in his draft year. |

Pens have a ton of picks the next 3 years. Wonder who will turn it around first. |

The Nashville pick could be interesting. That is a team that needs to win and a 1st rounder is not exactly a huge help. With the contracts they have and the players that they signed, could you offer your own 1st in a package alongside maybe York.
I thin k the Nashville pick could be in play
