I wouldn’t say borgen miller Soucy Schneider are small. Just not very physical players

To say they’re big, when not a single one is over 215 lbs, isn’t accurate though.

6’2 and 6’3 still from 205-215lbs pretty big dmen. I don’t think anyone is classifying them as small lol

I think the problem is it doesnt feel like they play to their size.

That’s a completely different story, and the truth. They don’t have the right make up of mobile physical defenseman back there

Ties into the entire lack of identity across the team

Im thinking.. if the Rangers do manage to keep their 1st round pick this year, barring another lottery luck, Id strongly consider trading back (if Jackson Smith or Radim Mrtka are off the board) and try to get more picks. If we get something like the 12th pick, CGY has 20 and 28, maybe swing something there.

I think I’d rather watch them F up another top 10 pick rather than 2 later round 1sts (although we seem to do better with those)

Since this draft isnt considered particularly strong, Im thinking to take the quantity approach and maybe try to pull two late 1sts and maybe an extra pick in the 2nd round. Double up on the picks we have in the first 2 rounds. Jackson Smith and Radim Mrtka are def my top choices were they would likely end up drafting.

However now Im reading about this kid Aitcheson and he sounds like exactly the kind of player we would want here as well. The current profile on him "An absolute force physically, Kashawn Aitcheson has become a favourite amongst many as a result. He has no problem stepping up to make a big open ice hit or be a handful in the corners or in front of the net. He truly is a handful to play against and when you’re on the ice, you better keep your head up. He has a sound two-way game with great anticipation and has an absolute bomb with great accuracy from the point. His 22 goals is third among OHL defenders, showing his willingness to get pucks on net and even pinch up and join in the offensive zone. He’s quick on the breakouts, defends rushes very well and is coming up clutch in key moments in a game."

He’s the perfect example. 6’1 200 lbs. probably has some room to grow, maybe 6’2 215. Not a huge dman, but if he plays physical and with an edge, he’d be a perfect fit.

You dont need to be huge to play huge. You either are or you arent that kind of guy. Gudas isnt a big guy by those standards, but hes a tough sob.

Yes, to an extent. But To say size doesn’t matter isn’t true.

Im not gonna say it doesnt matter, but its also a mentality. Size doesnt mean tough, as we well know. You either are or you arent.
