Draft picks! You cucks. - Grinder47
Since you brought it up, tonight's presumed loss against a team close to them will really help their draft odds. Thanks for being the only one willing to bring up draft picks, I was going to focus on the game and Sid's accomplishment. |

Those of you on here who have been worried about draft position -- why did you think the horrible goaltending wouldn't return? It was good for a few games, but after 60+ bad games, one had to expect it would revert back to what it is. |

It does stink for Sid no doubt. Still an amazing accomplishment by one of the best to ever do it.
As far as them getting blown out back to back, we'll, if it weren't for Sid, this might be the worst team in the league. It's not surprising, and wishing they'd win more won't change that. |

Hopefully we trade some f these meaningless draft picks so Sid has some guys to play with in his final years. |

Goalie is weird. Jarry is absolutely capable of putting together a hot stretch to end the year.
As far as draft positioning. Yes, while it was fun to see the Pens stack some wins for a few weeks, it probably did cost them a top 5 pick already. Draft falls off to me at 6 or 7 (not sure how to feel about McQueen) and they're on the edge there.
My head knows the more they lose the better. My heart still loves a good win and gets frustrated watching night like this, but I can at least look on the bright side. |

They could trade them all and they still would miss the playoffs. They need young talent coming through the system on cheap contracts AND add some veteran talent to fill holes AND drop some bad contracts.
They can and will try to trade some. Just not their firsts. |

The thing is their points percentage in March is almost identical to the rest of the season. Yes, they won 4 in a row, but that came after they lost 4 in a row. Overall in March they're 5-6-2, which is what you'd expect given how the rest of the season went.
Jarry certainly has the talent to play well, but it's been a long time since he's been able to mentally put together a stretch of good play. The expectation then to me had to be that he'd fall apart again.
That said, I still always want them to win, I'd be happy to see Jarry sort himself out, etc, but it seems highly unlikely. |

First half of last year feels so far away doesn’t it. At this point I agree, my hope is more in the young guys. Moreso Murashov although rumors are Blomqvist may have been hiding an injury last time he was up.
If Philly and Boston hadn't fallen apart, it might not have made much difference. We seemed pretty sure to finish 4-6 a few weeks ago. |

I’d trade the firsts in the right scenario. Got years to worry about draft picks after Sid retires. |

That would be foolish but you do you.
Maybe the Rangers 1st if they get it this year, but otherwise Dubas already said they aren't trading their own first this year or next. |

Mcgroats and koivunen called up to Pitt. Hopefully both play. Get a little exp in the big league before their Ahl playoff push. |

Pretty cool scene last night. Caps were heading to the locker room and Ovi called the whole team back to line up and shake Fleury's hand |

Let's go! Now how these guys look, if they're ready and able to contribute, that would go a long way in making the team competitive if they added 1 in house middle six forwards on entry deals. Still badly need one of the goalies to be ready, and find a LHD and top 6 wing, etc. |

Mcgroarty’s attempt at an AHL scrap told me all I need to know about him as a man. Still more balls that Rust though. |

A top six winger that’s signed for 3 years? Yeah take the 1st. |

This may be a bit of racial profiling on my part but I wonder if Koivunen can play the Jussi Jokenen role for old man Malkin |

He’s definitely lacked a white guy winger? |

He can still learn to scrap. The main thing is at least he tried. |

You’d think these young guys would be all over Boko to show them how to do it so they can add that to their game and maybe get a step up on the other guys. Kids just don’t care like they used to. |
