This is sort of a farewell for a while. This place has become more toxic than it is worth and I don’t have any hope that the problems will be fixed any time soon. There is no willingness on the part of the site’s staff to take even the most basic steps to enforce the rules. Even attempting to politely offer some helpful advice from someone with experience moderating large forums is met with open hostility. Trolls are allowed to hijack entire forum threads off the rails with political diatribes, and red pill copy-pasta is a daily occurrence that is tolerated with a flippant attitude towards enforcement of the basic rules of decorum. Repeat violators are allowed to run rampant with impunity and the onus of moderation is placed on the members who are expected to do the moderators’ jobs for them.

This site is a defacto “nazi bar” and I am frankly done with it. Until poop changes for the better, I am gone. I came here to talk about hockey and not read a transcript of the latest Infowars show. If any of the cool people here want to keep in touch and talk Leafs hockey, then look me up on Mastodon. Of course, this will probably get deleted. Or, worse, it will probably be ignored and nobody will care. That’s the world we live in now.

Peace out and go Leafs!

Ya they've spread like cancer, but ya gotta keep the fight up!

The march to 50 goals is on...Lets go Willie!!!

Oh I know, but him and JT seem to be both ticking beautifully at the same time (especially recently) which is a super nice plus

I mean I just took a peak and JT has 12 in the last 19, if those two are both hot who does the opposition focus on?

the Leafs 5v5 play is pretty bad. Against bad team you think they can at least carry a bit of the play at 5v5. more of a berube/systems thing?

not great, bob

- senstroll

Watched off and on. JT line seemed to be all they had 5v5. Top line was having real trouble with Tofoli and the kids

The 3 on 3 OT’s are so fun to watch.
Make it 10 minutes.

- Woderwick

Couldn't disagree more; 3 on 3 is HORRIBLE to watch.

The keep away bs where teams skate into the O-zone, look around, and decide to skate out and regroup is (frank)ing frustrating to watch.

Here's what should be done:

- Eliminate the shootout
- 5v5 for 10 mins
- 0 points for a tie
- 3 points for a win (*** regulation wins should also be worth 3pts)

I'm all for regulation wins to be 3 points but for the love of god don't bring back the tie.

3 on 3 for 10 minutes would get rid of 90% of the shootouts. Which is considerably worse than 3 on 3 hockey.

"People say things in here that I disagree with politically so they're necessarily Nazis."

Dude, your post is ironically toxic/radioactive.

People (on the left and right) need to take a break from the interwebs and stop reading/watching/listening to the MSM propagandized, curated content that seeks political polarization.

Everyone politically on the "other side" is necessarily a communist or a fascist. It's all so (frank)ing lazy and tiresome... and dangerous.

Take a mental vacation and touch some grass, dude.

I dont mind this, but i would still do 1pt for a tie along with 3pts for a reg or OT win.
The nhl will never do this as it would probably add real separation between teams and they say north Americans dont like ties

I guess I don't mind the 1pt for a tie as long as regulation wins are rewarded 3pts.

I wonder if the whole "Americans don't like ties" narrative is actually unfalsifiable bs that gets parroted by sports media.

Meh, I dont think it is a fabrication.

But i dont see the nhl going back to allowing draws anyway.

I did a quick look, even with 0pts for a draw (which the nhl wouldnt do) it doesnt change the playoff teams too much.

Current:
Leafs – 90pts
Panthers – 89pts
Lighting 89pts

Caps – 103pts
Hurricanes – 90pts
Devils – 83 pts

Wild card
Sens – 81pts
Canadiens – 75pts
Rangers – 74pts
Jackets – 73 pts

3pt wins 0 pt ties

Leafs – 43 wins – 129pts
Panthers – 43 wins – 129pts
Lightning – 42 wins – 126pts

Capitals – 47 wins – 141pts
Hurricanes – 43 wins – 129pts
Devils – 38 wins - 114pts

Wild card
Senators – 38 wins – 114pts
Rangers – 34 wins – 102pts
Canadiens – 33 wins – 99pts
Red wings – 33 – 99pts
Islanders – 32 wins – 96pts
Jackets – 32 wins – 96pts

not a lot of changes. But it might if the Teams are playing under that new point structure.

its hard to just look and change the points based on the way it is now, teams may play different under the new rules. change outcomes etc

Stolarz should start game 1

Stolarz 2.5m
Woll 766k

Next year, Woll starts - 3.6m

- mr.sir

I wouldn't make the decision based on salary. It has to be earned on merit or factored.

Like if we play Tampa, both goalies have actually played quite well against Tampa - Woll is 2-0 with a .915 save percentage; Stolarz is 1-0 with a .941 save percentage. If we play Florida - Stolarz has been abysmal at 0-2 with an .854 save percentage; Woll hasn't played them yet, so I'd think we should start him April 2nd and the 8th.

See if one goalie suits playing against a specific team's style more.

Just observationally I like how Stolarz is bigger and tough to get pucks by in tight, but in the in-crease scrambles because he's so long, he opens up allowing pucks under him in the 5 hole more. I think Woll is a better scrambler down low - but I also think Woll gives up too many uncontrolled rebounds. As long as our defense is going to play like they have been it's going to tough on either them because the D hasn't been moving bodies, hasn't been protecting the net front, hasn't been blocking the seam and has also been bad on gap control leaving guys with too much space and room to shoot.

The other argument is that while he was injured Stolarz has started 27 games and Woll has started 37. All of that is to say that if I were asked today who to start in the playoffs . . . I don't know who I'd pick. After his last two games it would probably be Stolarz - but that's an emotional reaction based on Woll's last two starts.

The last consideration is that Stolarz has had 55.6% of his starts against playoff teams while Woll has had 47.4% of his starts against playoff teams. Stolarz has had the harder path and put up better numbers.

Ya of course. Some pts may fluctuate a bit based on that but the end result could still be better hockey if teams have play for win and not a draw.
Anywho it was just a quick look at it.

Sid 3 cups and all time ppg record.
Having my name 3 times on the cup would be more important than any record.

The nazi bar thing is a metaphor and you are missing the point. I have repeatedly said there are no actual nazis in here.

The shooting of the messenger by the ref and gaslighting in response to my post shows that I made the right decision. I am done.

And I still never said one bad word about Dozz until now. Shoot the (frank)ing messenger instead of doing your job. Well done. It went 12 hours because it was overnight and nobody was awake. You honestly think the issue was not gonna come up again until I posted about it? Un(frank)ingbelievable. Either you are gaslighting or just don't give a poop. Neither is a good look.

Don't bother replying, I'm not coming back and I'd delete my account if I could.

Yeah the keep away that is necessary in 3 on 3 gets old. I would also do 10 min 5 on 5.

I never hated ties myself. Just seems like a necessary thing in a violent game. Otherwise you have a gimmick finish, cause you can't do endless OT in season obviously. Baseball can do extra innings. Hockey and football and soccer need ties if they don't want gimmicks.
