What FA would replace those points?
- Fenrir

I think it’s time to ride the youth now. I’m sure after next season they can splash somewhere. To me we have a lot of wingers. Get themselves a big time center via FA, or rebuild the defense. FA wingers I ain’t down with

Not just one player and doesn’t have to be a UFA. Trade market could fill it out to. It’s a tough decision but I am trying to get younger and this teams needs to allocate money to more centers at some point

That can't be right.... players get older and less productive... They cant be extended for less money?
- picklerick

You can resign a player for less, but can you extend them for less? I don't think I have ever seen that happen.

Yea agree.

I want laf, Cuylle, othmann, Perrault and Berard as my wingers in the top 9. I’d trade laf in the right deal, but I think that should be the meat and potatoes of the rangers moving forward

Especially if Zib refuses to waive he pretty much becomes another 8.5 million winger too

@Mollie Walker:
Hearing the Rangers had conversations with Drew Fortescue about turning pro recently, but it sounds like the 19-year-old defenseman is returning to BC for his junior season.

I think he would greatly benefit from one more year in college.

You still need that go-to guy that produces. Rangers are not rebuilding with a youth movement.

Remember what this team did last season. They suck a$$ this year...sounds a lot like 91-92, 92-93...

I think Larry brooks brought up a an idea that a Panarin extension could be in the cards this summer

Saw a twitter poll where a 4 year 7 million a year extension beyond next season as a proposal

1200 votes

81% of fans say yes

19% say no

- jimbro83

To me, at that price point with the cap rising, a no-brainer, yes

That is true. But I think center could be that guy.

Think 3 x 9M would suffice. He'll be 34 when hitting FA. I would use caution when having a player locked into the roster until 38 or older. We don't want to turn into the Icelanders.

I would be much more ok with Panarin extending if they can move zib

Yeah I do think that ultimately is the kicker. I think it’s much easier to take the roster having two expensive vets in their 30’s in JT Miller and Artemi Panarin the rest of the decade if they could figure out how to move Mika.

Would love that if they can put up the points. Zib has to go.

Yea it really needs to be top priority this summer. Kreider is 99% gone. Just need to figure out a way to get zib out the door too

See what happens. I think Fox is the biggest problem(based on play, years and salary) I know I’m in the minority with that, but I’m steadfast in that belief

I could see a scenario where all 4 are gone..Zib, Kreider, Fox and Breadman

Fox looks so slow I wonder if he’s gonna have a knee procedure in off season.

I'd take Drury any day over Lou. I'd even take back Neil Smith as Islander GM or President. He was at least able to sign better UFA's in 40 days than the Islanders have done in years and Neil did not have UBS.

I don't disagree completely. Fox has been one of the bag-skaters this year, but he's still going to get well over 60 points this season. He's doing that and not even trying...imagine if he did try?

Yeah. I think one more year for Fortesque makes sense and then at this time next year he signs.
