I agreed with Hughes it wasn't worth taking at the time.
But yes, if he played that way for us right now, we'd be pretty (frank)ing happy. |

I don't think Hughes not being interested in Dubois should be considered a mistake, things worked out in WAS, good for him.
it would've become a huge distraction in MTL imho, way different context and market. |

I think Cozens being younger was a better risk to take, especially given the history of good players coming out of Buffalo to finally reach their potential. While Dubois was more of a "he keeps bouncing around teams, saying he's unhappy" joined with a terrible season and an even bigger contract.
Montreal didn't want that risk, I fully understand that.
I do believe they wanted Cozens, but we didn't have a Norris to give them... which is weirdly what they wanted.
