They can get an older C untill Hage is coming over or a younger one (around 23, 24 yrs old) that will grow with the core of this team. Or maybe a guy that is not that young or not that old.
They have assets and $$$, so there is that. - deadpoulet
You listed all the combinations who do you have in mind?

I still think keeping Monahan would have been the best option. Many are excited with the first rounder we got from Calgary but it is going to end up costing us more to get someone most probably not as good…

Will see how they will address that. - TheInformer697041
Agree Monahan would have been perfect. Almost. He is still very injury prone. +, they also got Hage once they traded Monahan. That guy might be really good in a few years.

We have the money for Marner…. I don’t like him much…. I think we need someone with grit.
Marco Rossi (23 on july first) or Mason mctavish (22 on july first) come to mind.
Ryan McLeod (25 yrs).
All of those guys are RFA this summer. All 25 yrs old or younger.
Not my first pick but matty beniers (22 yrs old). No idea about his contract status.
There are others but you see the trend. - deadpoulet
Rossi is too small so not considering him
I would also add Roopie Hintz on that list which i have mentioned a few times in this chat
With Laine teams are figuring out our PP. adding Demidov will help but Laine better start to stay back at practice and work on his skating as he looks slow. We will need to move on from him if he stays like that 5v5

That means he is not going anywhere
You need to have the right target - deadpoulet

The cap is rising, teams might keep their players. We will see
If Demidov could play centre that would solve a lot of problems - deadpoulet
I doubt it, he really likes to rush and create stuff, he'll turn the puck a couple of times, he needs a reliable center who can cover for him and let him be creative.
Vegas has Eichel, Hertl, Barbashev, Howden, Nicolas Roy, William Karlsson who can play center.
They are always in a cap bind and are often active. - MortChicken
Habs have Suzuki, Newhook who can very skate fast with tunnel vision, Dach on one knee, Pre contract Evans and the Beck/Kapanen new sprouts. Dvo is UFA but playing his best hockey in MTL the past few years this season.
Who is coming this summer? I expect a veteran to patch a hole for 2/3 years
