No doubt, it's a bit of a crap shoot, but with current trends it looks like the Leafs have first locked up, and Ottawa is going to overtake Florida. Lots of moving pieces, but I'd almost rather give Florida 2pts tonight.

There are no good choices. This isn't the Jets NEED to face the Wild type of situation. The Leafs just need to do it. Would it be nice if they played a completely injured Panthers (if that is the case then)? Sure. Is it nice if they face a team in their first ever playoffs in nearly a decade (but they played Game 7 every game this season against them)? Sure. Would it be nice to play the only team they ever beat in the playoffs since Sundin? Sure.

They had their chance to beat up a poopty team in Montreal and they lost. That was the last time they had an "easy" way forward.

Oh, for sure. I've said it a million times, the East is a murders row. But a healthy Florida team is on another level vs the other options. They have a goalie that can get insanely hot and steal games/a series. Their offense and grit are unmatched when they're on. I'm hoping to avoid them in the first round. Let the Florida men beat the pulp out of each other, and then we'll take care of whoever survives.

I honestly think the Leafs are built different this year. There are a lot of players that didn't win $hit, until they did. I think the years of failure have forged the core into different players. I think the 4 Nations did a lot for Mitch's confidence. And, it's just an all around better team than we've seen in maybe decades. Maybe they fall flat. Maybe they go ghey porn star deep. Who knows, that's why we play the games.
