I mean could it get any worse? At the very least they should give up less goals. Scoring could be an issue and they need the PP to be much much better. Wtf happen to that last season, it was horrific |

Theres a lot of unknown surrounding the team after how the previous year finished. Could it get worse? Nah, I never suggested that. However the Stanley Cup definitely seems far away for this team the way its put together.
Maybe Sullivan can straighten some parts of the team out, but I think theres too much of a positional blender going on. The team needs to figure out and consolidate some of the assets/pieces they have into bonafide singular pieces. At some point, you end up with too many spokes and need a wheel, an axel, a suspension.
Theres 6 positions to fill in the bottom 2 lines.
Berard, Othmann, Edstrom, Carrick, Rempe, Brodz, Parssinen, Raddysh, Dowling, Trocheck (potentially as 3C).
Thats 10 guys to fill 6 spots. This needs to be cleaned up. |

I dont think it can get much worse but to think they are more than a bubble team is over thinking it. To think they are contenders is hoping for a miracle in Laffy and the kids over produce and have career years. |

I’m not expecting it, but I wouldn’t be shocked if they finished top 2 or 3 in the division. There’s certainly a lot of “if’s” to get there but on paper you have a top 3 goalie, a top 10 defenseman who now has a legit partner, a top 10 goal scorer in Panarin, another top player in Miller, the best 3C in the league if Trocheck plays there, and 5-6 kids who are due to breakout (Laf included). Mika is the big X factor, if he can pot 30-30 at least as 2C I think we’ll be a problem.
Cautiously optimistic but I get why you’re less hopeful. |

Offense has questions marks but they should be able to score. Mika looked rejuvenated when Miller got here and the he fell off a cliff the last 15 games. Too many "Ifs" Who knows. But for me its the defense, they just look so weak, even Fox. Fox looked so slow and after the season ended and nothing came out about him battling an injury, I was a little more depressed. Could be they just didnt want to say anything but who knows how bad his knee is.
We will see. |

I was hoping for some sort of injury and potentially even surgery news for Fox’s knee as well. Wonder if it’s something they keep putting off hoping rehab will fix. He’s gotta move better this season for sure.

Gavrikov is widely known to be one of the better shutdown/defensive defensemen in the NHL. Miller is addition by subtraction. Morrow has potential to be like him anyway at under a million bucks. Soucy ok he isn’t great but he is big and it’s one more year. Borgen is well under appreciated because we traded Kakko for him, he’s actually pretty good.
I’d like to see Robertson make the team. He is also a large fella |

Why? Because I brought it up the guy scores goals like crazy. What shall we do with about 30 million in cap space? |

Still too many holes.
Top six soft and slow.
Still a few good “hockey” players available. I’m surprised Sully hasn’t pressed Drury for Rust from Pittsburgh, or maybe he has. I don’t care old old he is, this is a good player for a team that needs help up front. |

Point is tho, the rangers have money to spend next summer and that usually means something big happens. They won’t not spend it that’s for sure. Kk has 15 goals in 22 career playoff games🤷🏻♂️
I would trade for rust too. I think they’d need to retain tho. I don’t think they could dump enough money to afford him this year |

We should all hope for one of: McDavid, Eichel or Kaprizov to sign here next summer. Those players would be foolish to not wait until then with all these salary caps rising |

I just signed us one Matt Grzelcyk. They do have some room for one more guy if they bargain shop. Probably at the expense of JBrod who I don’t see making the team. He would catch on with another team probably |

No not because you brought him up. LOL Although that is as good enough as any but because Im done signing "Star" players. They are just a stop gap to put people in the seats, the team will just middle along again as we sign mercenaries who just cant get us past the second round. |
