No not because you brought him up. LOL Although that is as good enough as any but because Im done signing "Star" players. They are just a stop gap to put people in the seats, the team will just middle along again as we sign mercenaries who just cant get us past the second round. - Brukie
We have almost 30 million in cap space next year lol it’s going to be used like a $10 hooker
All you want to do is complain about everything. You do it extremely well |

Complain?? Well I can complain that the organization is run with an idiot running it but you would want to call him a genius. I see a GM who took a playoff team and turned them into a non playoff team. My crystal ball says no chance for a Cup in the next 3 years. |

No if they offer him, let’s be conservative, and say $16 mill AAV. Hell they might go to $20 AAV |

Why? I think its a nice thing to have on the Christmas list. No one always gets everything they want, but it doesnt hurt to be optimistic. |

The thing we have is Shesty. Not sure Brukie understands that a goalie is in fact taken into consideration with players. Especially motivated to win like he is. Imagine Shesty in Edm and not skinner? There is a reason why Shesty was given that contract and some of it is to lure future players, ie-mcdavid |

This is part of why I talk about consolidating on assets. We cant have dozens of assets and no where to play them in the lineup. At some point you leave 2 or 3 of them, and package the rest to balance out the team. As I mentioned before, theres 10 signed players who are bottom 6 guys, competing for 6 positions. Its unnecessary. Its also an unnecessary, cumulative, waste of cap space. |

Perrault will probably start in Hartford. Which kind of sucks, but it does make some sense to do that |

Gabe should, but I expect to see him after the trade deadline.
Depth is nice, but at some point you have to clean it up. I do agree the defense has me a bit concerned to start the season. Although Fox Im not worried about, its the other 2 pairs that are worrisome. |

Gavrikov is light years better then miller, and Lindgren for that matter. Thats a net positive in a big way
Schneider was hurt all season supposedly. Him healthy is another net positive
Borgen. I get it, we traded Kakko for him. But he’s actually pretty good if people could look past that. He was a +9 on this cluster(frank) of a team and very durable. Last 3 seasons: 82-82-84 games
So that’s two pairs right there. And who has 3 great pairs unless you’re Florida, salary cap cheats
Maybe they get something out of Robertson. Vaaaks isn’t awful. Soucy is meh but they could easily make him the 7th D if Morrow plays
I like this alot:
Gavrikov Fox
Schneider Borgen
Vaaks Morrow
Soucy
They need to give Schneider more ice time to see if he is worth an extension, and they were saying he had a small sample where he looked good on the left side. I don’t recall that but it is a thing.
Vaaks is underrated too. He did pretty well last year. Imo he and Borgen are fairly immune to last years demise |

Im not saying anything about Gav and Fox, not worried there.
But Schneider playing all season on his off-side is a bit concerning. As more tape comes out and teams study them theres a potential he could get exposed. Theres a reason why defensemen specifically dont play their off-side. Those that do, like Heiskenen and Dahlin, are top top level elite skaters.
Im over the whole KK thing, I couldnt careless anymore about the trade and that we got Borgen out of it. Hes here and hes gonna play. Hes not bad, but I dont know if hes the kind of caliber Dman who is reliable to play 20mins a game. To me hes a 3rd pairing 17min a game guy.
Morrow is a big offensive defenseman, apparently he has his shortcomings defensively. Soucy I hope doesnt turn into a cone. Vaak... meh, I guess theres more to see, but I have my reservations. Robertson's development has been slow because apparently his skating wasnt catching up to NHL standards.
Between Schneider and Morrow, I think theyre ultimately going to have to make a decision eventually which one stays and goes.
Its nice we have Fortescue and Emery in the pipeline, but theyre at minimum a year away if not 2 years away. |

Schneider could very well get traded next summer or getting Morrow could light a fire under his ass where he really shines this year |
