The endless post-hoc debate about Nolan Patrick on here, years after he left certainly didn’t help the discussions if we’re talking about the decline of this board. He was a lightning rod for discourse that went on for far too long.

I always chuckle when I pop in here and see the handful of people who post here relentlessly and generally spew negativity. Not much of a loss if this site goes by the wayside although I'm sure those trolls will pop up on the next blog site. Sad lives there...

How do you feel about the folks who just pop in to offer negativity?

Losing at this point in the season, is in fact winning, I'm so excited about the upcoming draft and building an organization from within. I look at the 22 and under players the San Jose Sharks have assembled, be like the San Jose Sharks.

I kind of think it was. At the risk of being banned yet again I'd like to share with you what got me a 4 day ban last week. Someone on here said that Tocchet will be back in Philly soon. Book it!! My response was this, "Please no!!! Although that is my fear." That was all I said? I ask you, what is wrong with that comment? I've gone on other team's blogs and I see comments that would get banned on this thread, so it seems to be the Flyers blog that is being heavily moderated. I dunno...

I assume you read Bill M's parting blog carefully. And noticed there were increasingly days when he was writing 3 blogs a day. Most likely, the site just wasn't getting enough views, even before the current moderation regime.

I have nothing major against HB. It's the only place where people could write long posts and have others engage with details of posts. It's freewheeling and free. It has had a nice run.

Bruins beating the Devils very badly. The path to 4th overall for the Flyers is opening up nicely. Just need the Flyers goaltending to remain status woe.

The obsession by fans of getting to 4 is weird to me since the Flyers are likely targeting Desnoyers. Unless you hope for winning the lottery and then it would help by a percentage point or two.

That’s a bit of an exaggeration on Desnoyers but I don’t really see the Flyers liking either Hagens or Frondell which everyone on the internet is hoping the Flyers take. Hagens is small and Frondell may not even be a center in the NHL. Desnoyers is described as a two way French Canadian center with decent size that knows the details of the game. I couldn’t make up a better description of the type of player the Flyers love.

Centers and defensemen, just gotta keep drafting centers and defensemen until they're blue in the face. Build through the middle until they hit on something.

Yeah, I guess they have been losing viewers/traffic as time has gone on. I'm sure the Flyers swoon the last decade hasn't helped in that regard. I just don't really understand the heavy moderation that is currently going on? I have 2 other hockey venues that I now post on regularly, so if this place goes by the wayside it is what it is. Like you, I have nothing against HB and I like many of the posters on here (not all). The one thing that gets old on here is the same negative crap that is spewed on here over and over. Agreed! I just don't get folks that hate the team and in some cases this site in general, and yet, they still come here day after day to remind us how much they hate the organization and why. Strange breed indeed there...

They are actually FB pages. Flyers Nation and Flyers fan FB page. Flyers Nation has 32,000 members and I post there the most. Pretty good crew and they take out the trash (trolls) on a pretty regular basis.
