Instructions unclear, the New York Rangers have acquired a conditional 2026 1st round pick and 66yo center Craig MacTavish from the Anaheim Ducks in return for Artemi Panarin - eichiefs9

It is certainly right up there...though that 92-93 was absolutely brutal with Leetch being injured for much of the season with the pinched nerve and then the ankle...and then the Lemieux 5 goal game...it was pretty bad. - climbdenali12
I recall that season and the odd turn Leetch took that broke his ankle. I now feel old. |

He'd definitely boost the offense, but the Ducks have allowed the 10th most GA/GP and have the league's 4th worst PK. I admittedly don't watch a ton of West Coast games because of the time difference, but it seems like there are a lot more issues than just scoring. A stable of high-end prospects helps the future for sure, but it'd be a tough look to trade a young kid (and other valuable assets) that goes on to be a star for what could only be one year of a guy like Panarin. Seems like overpaying a little for someone in July might be a little bit of a more stable route. - eichiefs9
Weβre pretty much unbeatable when we score 3 or more - ππππ

The entire team from top to bottom has given up. Only the kids are playing so they can be on the roster next season...which is unfair because the vets/leaders are not helping them at all. Nobody is going to look good until the end of game 82...even after then I have doubts. |

Verbeek has made some stupid deals, but I think that even may be a bridge too far. ππππ |

Once Ryan Strome is gone, McT is the 2C there. |

False. It will be Mika Zibanejad |

When looking at what Panarin would get at the deadline, it would likely be a 1st, 2nd, high end prospect and roster player.
Brock Nelson just got a 1st, 3rd and Calum Ritchie (COL 2023 1st round pick) |

If Lavi puts Perreault on the 4th line again, one of these "leaders" should turn around and Punch him right in the Imlach!! |

Yeah the Rangers would have to win 5 in a row and the Canadiens would have to lose 4 in a row. Not happening.
Also, having all the regulation wins we thought would help for playoffs is now going to hurt us. Season ending today with no lottery would give us the 13th pick even though we are tied for 10th pick. |

I thought Laviolette would have been fired yesterday, surprised it didnβt happen. |

I do wonder what they do with the pick. Cause picks 17-24 in 2026 may get the rangers a better player than picks 10-15 in this years draft based on the draft classes I keep seeing |

I believe they will keep this year's pick and Dolan will have an edict that the team better make the playoffs next year
he wont allow Drury to act like next year's team could be worse (even though it might)

It doesnt even pay to fire him now, he will finish out the season and be in a cab as soon as the season is over, just like Gallant was.
This group really likes getting their coaches fired. |

Montreal is going to put a scare into Washington in that first round. That team is rolling. |

Hutson is just so good. He was everywhere making plays with the puck. And just a rookie. What a great pick. |

See that's where I think he does need to be fired. We know the season's over why waste time fire him now bringing some hard ass to drill it into these guys that basically says if you're not going to play you're not going to be here hell have Drury pull of slats and get behind the bench himself. You also have to worry about what free agents potentially think you can take these last six games or what have you and show some spark of life for the remaining guys on this team maybe there's a chance people would actually still want to come to New York because as of right now nobody wants to play for Drury |

Washington never scared me they should never been this good this season but they've rallied around Ovi. I truly think they may have shot their load with getting him the record and a first round bounce would not be shocking at all |

A hard ass coach would bag skate them in practice, how many practices do they have left?
The free agent class is thin this year, nobody on the list screams gotta sign him and all of the league knows how Drury treats his players.
Yesterday on the NHL channel Steve Kouleas had I think Jim Cerny on as a guest and he broke down the Rangers season and basically said it was the Trouba trade that did it. Seems Trouba was a big influential and respected voice in the locker room and when he was traded nobody was able to fill his void. |
