Wildcats game.
Desnoyers is going to be a good NHL player. The kid sees the ice very well and can create for himself and his teammates. He's an effortless skater that plays a 200' game and is defensively responsible. His shot is good, but it is not an NHL shot at this point. I think he needs a better release. He displays some physicality, but this is the Q and the game wasn't all that physical in nature. He scored on his first shift, added another in the 2nd.
Morin is noticeable every time he's on the ice, I think the Flames got a good one in the 2nd round.
The Bruins 6th round pick looked pretty good out there too. Johansen.
The WildCats are a really well coached team and have a deep roster, the 7-0 score reflected how dominant the play was. After 2 periods, the shots were 32-14. We left with 10 minutes left in the 3rd, shortly after the 7th goal to beat the crowd.

My pleasure, probably going to ride this train hopefully to the Memorial Cup.
Regardless, I'll be driving through Quebec twice during the Memorial and going via Rimouski only adds maybe 90 minutes to my drive......which is about 12 hours.
I imagine I may go that way both times and to catch a game or two and stay the night.
I hope they fire JR/PA/Tocchet and start over with Hughes as the focal point and build out from him. It'll never happen, but it's what I'd like, along with the pipe dream that FA sells to Chip Wilson and Ryan Reynolds. - DariusKnight
now that’s a dream, I couldn’t care about Rutherford, I don’t mind Allvin, but really like Tocchet and want him back. I wonder if Hughes would walk after publicly praising Tocchet I’d hate to see him get pissed off with losing him.
If Reynolds could afford the Canucks (with a partner) he probably would have used that to invest in a top flight Championship team and looked to advancement to the Premier League.

Very cool. Victoria starts the 2nd round in Spokane on Sunday. Got tickets for their first home game Wednesday night. But there's a free streaming service that's showing the entire WHL league playoffs live and on demand, so I've been going nuts watching almost every team. Caught Lethbridge/Calgary last night. Watching Everett/Portland right now.

It was $100 for tickets for 4 and parking, what a deal. Left the house around 6:15 and home at 9:30. The ole lady and both daughters enjoyed the entire experience which is important because dad can't just be going out on his own all the time.
Probably won't be at Sunday's game as I'll likely be working. I may check out some online coverage, probably some OHL and Q on TV here as well.

Yeah, it's totally worth the money. My Wife goes with me when she feels like it. She has also started going with a coworker that has gotten into it after we took her to a game. Sometimes I go with buddies or by myself. Even when the team was bad, I've never left a game and thought it was a waste...aside from my 30 year losing streak at the 50-50. (It's gotta be fucking rigged.)

I bought $50 worth of tickets and another $20 on a jersey raffle for my youngest. I figure I'll tone that down if I go regularly but I don't buy much at the concession stand.
I told the wife she should go Sunday with the youngest if the oldest and myself are both working. We'll see.
I'll be going to more games in the future, bringing the family is up to them most nights.

Yeah, Hughes is the captain, he'd say that even if he privately hated the man so that means nothing. Nothing they say to the media is anything but canned answers to canned questions. Everyone knows the game, everything on record is as clean and uncontroversial as possible and off-the-record everything is fair game, attributed to "sources inside the team".
His system IS tailored to Hughes's strengths, so in that sense, I could understand why he likes the man. But his system relies on having him and 20 other Hughes-lites that can do the same things he can to various degrees and that's just not possible. Tocchet's shown that after about a year or three quarters of a season, his systems are easily countered and just like AV is unable to adjust and gets outcoached and has no answers.
That's beside the fact that he allowed the problems between Miller and EP40 to get to the point they did without being able to squash it. That's on him, every team has personality conflicts, but it never gets to the point where the media hear about it and end up commenting on it.

I know a guy that’s won the 50/50 3 (frank)ing times, not really big ones but still.

I have read your opinions on Tocchet and his systems he implements, I just don’t think I agree. I also don’t think I would put the Miller/Pettersson rift on him either, I would place it on Miller to start with and then Allvin, Pettersson and then Tocchet.
I guess I just have a different outlook on individual character morals, Hughes didn’t have to praise Tocchet, he could have played the game you suggest by giving safe canned answers…yeah he’s a good coach, yeah been a tough year did the best he could under the circumstances, instead he states “ We’re very structured, we don’t give up much, we have maybe the best goalie tandem in the league, and we have a great D-corps and others that are coming that will help us. The point is, if we get Rick back and add a piece or two, we can be very successful.” “He’s an amazing coach,” Hughes said. “You look at me individually and my game, he’s been amazing for me — amazing for a lot of guys. He’s just a great person, first of all. That’s a guy you want to compete for, you want to play for. And he’s a terrific coach.
Anyway I have a upbeat outlook, I will continue to hope Tocchet is resigned, which will hopefully make Hughes stay, and Allvin brings in some forward help and Pettersson returns to his ppg minimum but would rather 100+….you know the guzzler/slurper Reuby complains about….jking Reubs

Thanks NYN, I don’t understand why posters think the players will just roll over and quit, maybe that is their attitude to their life’s challenges but it certainly wouldn’t be mine.
I also see a contradiction saying they have nothing to play for yet are literally playing for the team and their futures.
And how is stating other clubs that don’t make the playoffs are so much better managed, had foresight to sell and then make excuses for how (frank)ing bad they are.
I hope they resign Tocchet, and look forward to the next Canucks season. - Makita
Plenty of quitters uttering nonsense in here. The players dgaf about opinions & won’t just roll over.
Why not look at some of the brighter things? Sherwood was a good add. The D rebuilt. Raty impressed etc.

Tocchet is going to Philly and Brock is auditioning for his new team Minny tonight.
Should be an interesting off season.
If Petey goes Hughes probably goes.
At this point just get Malholtra in there for a season or two. Petey's feeling may be less hurt under Malholtra hahahaha
lol

Good to hear about Morin, his numbers have been going down but I think he’s working on being a complete d. Was a late cut for Team Canada this year.
I just mowed the lawn with this coming thru my head set, so I thought I would share, enjoy.

Just finished mowing mine. I had to take my carb apart and clean it first. I've got a nice cologne of gas and mowed lawn going on. With a subtle hint of Husky/Malamute shit to top it off. I'm packing a bowl and grabbing a beer. It's gardening time.
