Thx Yorkie

Blowing points at home all year cost them. OT losses only clinched it.

Sad when a player gets grossly overpaid, ten the GM has to publicly state that conditioning will be a big part of discussion with that grossly overpaid player.
Too me, that is a classic POS.

I love how you keep blaming the overpayment on him.

Another sad, disappointing, end to a Canucks season. So much promise after last year's tremendous season. But, it went off the rails quickly this year, they never could pull it back together. A lot of blame to pass around for this one, primarily management for not acting quicker to the internal drama.

More Swedes should solve everything.

Game 1 for the Royals tonight. Your Raiders got their asses handed to them by Medicine Hat yesterday. Maybe send them an inspirational tweet or something. They're over matched.

Thanks Yorky, your blogging has been fantastic considering what an endless coiling turd this team and management laid all season.

Bottom line is Tocchet just wasn't given the right roster/situation to work with this season like he had last season. Even though the off season looked good on paper Tocchet was not able to apply it on the ice. Losing all that scoring was huge and Tocchet mis-handling Hogs was very poor as well plus a few other Tocchet moments but overall he did what he could.

But agree MNGT needs to take the brunt here for not handling the Miller/Petey situation better. Injuries did not help of course but good teams play through all that stuff...we couldn't.

The Petey thing is quite interesting would not want to be handling that at present. If his conditioning effort really is an issue it's obviously contributing to his injury-status'. Maybe it is time to move on but Hughes is the big question here. Does he want to stay to be part of a small rebuild if Petey goes? Depend on the players coming in mind you but considering the gaffe of how MNGT handled Petey/Miller they need to hit one out of the park to keep Hughes here. Gonna get wild.

Nice to see Travis Green in the PO's again. Maybe Benning gets hired somewhere? None never knows...

Whoa Whoa Whoa now take it easy here...the fact we have only 2-3 Canadians on the roster on any given night makes no difference...

I believe talent trumps nationality, but, I do believe there is definitely something to hockey and the Stanley Cup being culturally ingrained in Canadian kids. It means something to them from the time they're old enough to throw a pair of skates on.

As for the Raiders, I haven't been following it closely, life has been busy lately. The Tigers scored five straight in the 2nd and McKenna wasn't even really a factor on the scoresheet. They'll have to be better next game.

You still need experienced muckers that know how to operate in tight quarters to get the talent the puck.

Then you need the talent to realize an 11.6 million dollar paycheck isn't an excuse to coast and wait for others to get it done.

Despite my outward nauseating enthusiasm to start the year, the defense was always going to be a problem. Allvin failed in that regard. And when you pile the dysfunctional dressing room issues, injuries, and heavy rains into the mix, well, you just can't overcome those factors no matter how hard you try.

As for the Sens, nice to see them in the playoffs, they've got a nice young team. They just needed to tighten up defensively if they were going to make any forward progress. Still lose in their giveaways, work to do for Greener.

Agree, you need some heaviness in your lineup to go along with talent and speed. It'll be an interesting summer to see how they address their shortcomings. (management)

Petey - if I'm being honest, that kid was a POS this year. He came off as an entitled, spoiled, immature, brat. Instead of the contract being a starting point for him, he came off like it was the end, as in, he'd made it and didn't need to try any longer. Maybe this year he'll actually train in the summer like he means it.

I know he had some mitigating factors to deal with but a lot of his demise this season was of his own doing...I actually hope they trade him this summer for a package that includes a good young center and they change the direction and culture of the franchise.

Agree with all of this. Nice day here. Gonna get more yard work done. Burn some shit, plant some stuff. Then watch some good Canadian kids play some meaningful Hockey. Probably check in from outside and see how the hate is evolving later.

Their play on home ice did them in, it shouldn’t be that way but it was. The game last night was a carbon copy of crapping the bed on home ice.

11.6m & so often many claimed it was his wingers not carrying him. A C drives his line & dishes. Elite paid C scores to round it out. EP did neither. Add to that on the PP he was rarely a force. Conditioning only adds to the disappointment.

JT might be the villain & gone now but EP is accountable for himself. Fail

Holding leads is one thing this club always struggled with but blaming home ice losses isn't gonna cut it. Doesn't matter whether at home or on the road scoring was WAY down this year compared to last. Currently with two games left we have 230 goals scored and after 82 games last year we scored 279 lol. We will be lucky to get to 235 for this seasons totals home or away ice has almost nothing to do with it compared to overall scoring.
