I’m not going to pretend to remember Biz as a prospect but I will say that a player like Biz is very capable of generating hype for reasons that have nothing to do with playing good hockey and can sometimes trick people into thinking he’s playing good hockey due to that same hype. Brunicke was making waves for playing great hockey at camp

Biz could actually skate pretty well, that sometimes fulls people.

I guess we'll just agree to disagree then. It will tell me a lot if they keep all of Letang, EK, and Timmons. I'd consider Timmons a good 3 RD and a bit of a road block. St. Ivany also will need waivers next year.

If they are sure Brunicke is playing in the NHL next year, I'd expect them to open a spot. It's not like LD where all 3 spots are open IMO. Unless they really want to play Letang or EK on their offside, but I haven't liked that experiment.

They just posted a short bit on Brunicke from Kral, who's been his defense partner on the second pair recently. I'll share this:

When Kral says Brunicke is trying to do "much," he's really talking about some of the things you see Brunicke do that he could get away with in the junior level, and he's learning he can't do now as a pro. Things like holding onto the puck too long to try to make a play, or bank the puck off the boards in an attempt to make a pass to himself, both of those things have led to Brunicke being stripped of the puck and directly to an opponent's goal. But for a guy as young as he is, he's largely handled the adjustment well, and those mistakes serve as valuable learning opportunities as he prepares to push for an NHL spot out of camp next season.

Brunicke has 1 assist and is a minus four in seven games. Sounds like he is going through some adjustments. It's unfortunate the AHL is not an option next year because maybe he could use half a season there. Hopefully he learns enough now.

Tonight’s games didn’t help us in the standings… ugh. Other teams are trying out tank us.

Yeah, I agree. GMJR shouldn't have traded a first for Kap or signed JJ, along with some other minor mistakes, but he definitely shouldn't have gone into a rebuild after 2018 with a 31-year-old Sid and a 100-point team.

Biz was a pretty regarded prospect but for Defense. He handled his own business but wasn’t a fighter. He made the conscious decision to become an enforcer to make the show. Now next to Gretzky he’s the most popular nhl player of all time.
