odd take for any habs fan to not care at all about tonight's outcome imho, but hey, as you say, go habs go!
- Pat1993

they wanted to be in the mix, they are. job well done.

imo they wouldn't win a single game againts the Caps. good experience for the kids but not much for the fans.

I think the canes are resting like 4 guys, I don't know if it'll be their "C team" but I agree, just (frank)ing win the game lol.
- Pat1993

I think we can say that, their best players will sit

whatever

I see what you mean, but that good experience for the kids also mean the team will be more ready next season. Not sure why any fan would want it any other way

even if you wouldn't be entertained by their playoff performance, it'll still be something very valuable in the long run for this team's learning process...

since you already know they'll be getting swept, I guess you won't have to watch the games

just saying there will be NHL-calibre players on the other end, it won't be that easy... the canes already know they're in the playoffs and who they're playing against, the habs have a lot more on the line.

oh I'll watch, they don't make the playoffs every year lol
but I don't expect them to score many goals. maybe 4?
in 4 games

as for the playoffs experience for the kids, they've been playing playoffs games since xmas. 4 games more or 4 games less... won't make that big a difference.

Kotkaniemi is going to be motivated for sure.

don't think you could be more pessimistic, even if you tried

and come on, I get what you're saying about playing meaningful games, but don't tell me it's the exact same thing as playing actual playoff hockey...

Carolina resting a third of their team.
5 AHL call ups.

This is all on Montreal to get it done.

If they win, Hutson gets the calder.
They lose and Wolf probably gets it.

the good thing about playoffs experience will be to face the same team 4 games in arrow, versus the regular season.
I hope you are right and that they will surprise me, but honestly the way they've been playing the past few weeks... you have to be pretty optimistic they could turn things around. no?

I don't think there's any doubt Hutson will win the Calder, playoffs or not.

yeah, I can't pretend that I'm encouraged by what I've been seeing lately, but every time we thought it was over and they were done for the year, this team has proved us wrong, so I'm hoping they'll find their mojo back soon enough, starting with tonight.

agreed, although beating that Chelios record is already pretty damn cool, even if he doesn't win the Calder for some reason.

the way Chicago played reminded me a bit of how the habs were giving some very good performances at the end of the past few seasons, when things were already done and they were playing under zero pressure. this young team now needs to play well, despite how important this game is.

I saw him at the mall the other day, he looked ruff man. Taking a pause from all his professional activities. His face was all red and puffy.
