I would sacrifice Xhekaj for a 2nd line centre. Easily.
I like Xhekaj, I think if he becomes a reliable defenseman, his presence could be a huge difference for Montreal.
But the jury is still out on him being good enough at playing hockey. He couldn't outplay Struble this year... who's no superstar. - Scabeh
I would be careful not to mix MSL vision with HuGo…. I am still not 100% convinced he has what it takes and they are 100% with his coaching…. Remember when MSL threw them under the bus when they forced him to play Hutson last season…. I see MSL as a guy with a lot of gut feelings and emotion but I am still not a big fan of his one on one system…. Making the playoffs would give him some leeway but at the end of the day, the team is not playing very solid….
Apart pitching esoteric bullpoop to the journalist, when you look at the team performance, it is not as good as the RDS fan-club is pretending…

All that rest have very low value…
Look at the Sens, they had to give big to get big…

It's still a team of one line, what did you expect MSL to achieve with Dvorak, Gallagher, Armia, Evans, Pezzetta, Anderson? |

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
St-Louis has reached or exceeded the team's expected results every season since he was hired.
You might not agree with all his decisions, but as long as this is the case, he won't be fired.

Of those guys, I think Slaf could be available for a good 2C like McTavish…
You need to give to receive…
But I still believe that signing a guy like Bennet would make us a much better team without touching the core…
Next July will be very interesting! - TheInformer697041
you dont trade Slaf for a 2nd center, thats a dumb statement ! |

He will not be fired…. He will announce that he is going back to his family…
I think he exceeded this year but last year was not great…. Time will tell…

Better defensive play than what we were doing…
With a better system, they should be playing more tightly especially in their zone.
I am happy to see them in the playoffs but they are not very convincing…

They tell us what they want us to know.
I am not sure that they are as happy as you think but as I said, time will tell…
I am not a big fan of MSL as you can see and hopefully I am wrong about him… |

While I respect your opinion, I simply cannot agree. I love Martin St-Louis.
He's openly admitting he's learning at the same time as his young team and somehow managed to coach them into becoming the youngest NHL team to make the playoffs in history.
The way he communicates, the way this group feels united and have bought in his vision.... I don't remember a Habs coach to have done a better job considering the roster he has in front of him.
He's not perfect, he's making mistakes and that's ok, it's the right time to make them. Expectations will be bigger next season and he'll need to reach them yet again.

They were pretty tight yesterday.
The problem in the first was getting the puck out of the zone whitout getting destroyed by the forecheck |

It would be nice if he had some experienced assistant coaches, saw captain Kirk behind WSH bench last night, even saw Julian somewhere recently too.. |

I'm not drinking anything ( unfortunately) they had a 2 % to make it and they did
good portion of it is on the Coach
And also for not sucking forever a la Buffalos, and they had much better draft years then we did ( Dahlin and Eichel)
its the first time in 20 years you can see they are not far !!
add a great 2nd line center and a real tough guy on the 4th and I believe we can be contenders |
