Also, as I head to bed...(frank) the Habs. And Spatso - systemtool
I know you’ve headed to bed, but because of what you brought up tonight I’ll quote this because of what happened
Do you really believe what you just said. Marner is likely going back into junior for another year. This is when teams begin to worry that he cannot make the jump. I am telling you the reviews coming out of the USA WJC are not good on Marner. Nobody has panicked. But if goes back to junior you start to think that he is more Sam Gagner than Patrick Kane.

We never needed to. Also it's really not fair to depend on a guy who scored 40 plus goals and is second in the league in goals. Never carried the load so why bother. Better to pick game by game than a larger sample size. Also, (frank) the Sens. (frank) Spatos. #scoring the second most goals means nothing if you didn't impress in game 81 - systemtool
Time to rest as many players as possible, especially Matthews.
The Senators are the best possible 1st round match-up for the Leafs. We historically own them in the playoffs. If this core can't beat the Senators, they can't beat anybody.
Should start Woll because his playoff starts in the past should give him the edge. If he falters, they have a solid Plan B. Stolarz has been a great back-up but his playoff resume is next to zero. I'd rather go with Woll until he gives us a reason to change that. |

The Habs have a chance to write their own story tonight, but admittedly - with respect to Scabs and what we all know he'd prefer - the Columbus story is certainly the most poetic.
That said - and while it's always ingrained in me as a Leaf fan to hate Montreal - you have to appreciate their rebuild. There's a decent mixture of size, speed and skill in there. Right now their turnaround seems carried a bit by Hutson, if you listen to the media, but I think it might be more that Suzuki is turning in to the player they'd expected him to be. Slafkovsky, I don't think ever really is a #1 pick - some drafts just don't give you a franchise player - but he's far from a bust. It's not at all that they are the same, but I liken what I _think_ his contribution to the team will be to that of an RNH. Solid, good, may have a couple of great seasons in the mix - but it'll largely be carried by those around him that he works very well with.

We are now.
Robertson has been terrible on the 4th. Seems to work a little better on the 3rd, match ups maybe?
Putting Max P and his heavy play on the 4th makes it a pretty threatening line with some offensive potential.
Just my 2 cents.

Congrats to Marner.
Congrats to Matthews.
Congrats to the Leafs on the Division win.
BUT.I.DON'T.GIVE.AF. Time to win in the playoffs!!! 16 MORE GAMES TO WIN. (after they snuff out Detroit)
 - underhill14
Agreed.
Lose to the sens and nothing that occurred this season will matter.
But.
The leafs have the edge in:
Goaltending
D - if they all play
Forwards
And some could say Playoff chokes.....but lets ignore that.

I can’t say Mermis without pretending I have a speech impediment, even in my head…especially in my head.
Guys been rock solid for the couple games we’ve seen. He seems like he knows how to play his position. Smart, makes sound decisions. I like it. |

$100 a year is not bad - Fakepartofme
For the insane # of movies, shows and sports channels etc. it's really good.
The $100 gives us up to 3 or 4 concurrent connections so we have one at my Father In Laws for him to watch MLS soccer, EPL Soccer and other stuff that's not generally on usual TV.
We have it on all our TV's at home and have never not had enough connections running at the same time. We also have no kids so that helps. lol

Whatever happens tonight/tomorrow, it's still a very encouraging season from a team that seems to be jumping ahead of schedule in their rebuild.
Hutson is the biggest difference from last season. Well him and the overall team growing together (they are still the 2nd youngest team in the NHL). I dare think adding Demidov and perhaps Reinbacher next season will push the Habs further into becoming a competitive team. Exciting times to come and nothing but great things to say about what Hughes and Gorton have done.

Lost in the excitement last night did anyone see Dahlin lose his poop when Matthews scored his 400th?
Busted his stick over the cross bar & nearly hit the ref
Not sure if it was just because that put the game out of reach or he was mad that Matthews hit 400 and he was on the ice (remember they have history and Matthews got suspended because of it) or both.
I laughed pretty hard and laugh every time I see the replay thinking "dude you have been out of the race for a playoff spot for ages now". Someone on twitter asked why he freaked out and the best response was "because he just realized the Sabres will miss the playoffs next year too". |

Pretty sure it was Dahlin realizing nothing he does will help and he needs to get out to win.
Imagine having 68 points in 72 games as a defenseman and a +11 on a poop team and you're (frank)ed for life. |

Pegula bought the Sabres in 2011.
Sabres haven't been to the playoffs since 2011.
I don't believe it's a coincidence.

Dude:
Don't come into a Leafs thread and talk about an owner destroying a franchise.
It brings up past trauma. |
