It will be interesting to see the lines for the opener. For me, Jarnkrok and Kampf sit, Robertson and Patchy Patch in.

I have no problem with patches on the 4th line.
But he hasnt played in months and was already a bit slow when he did play.
The leafs have a good record over the past dozen games....rotate those players in and out.
Sens arent a heavy team, so im ok with robertson in...until he doesnt deserve to be |

I agree mostly, the reason I like Patches in is he brings the heavy hit and scoring touch into play. He's slow agreed, but neither Kampf or Jarnkrok can score and they don't hit nearly as hard. Robertson is weak defensively but can shoot better than most on this team.

If Patches can stay healthy he can contribute more than these two combined. |

I think the Leafs win the series in 6 but almost guaranteed to lose game 1.
Ottawa works very hard, they're hungry and Travis Green will have them ready for game 1. If they score the first goal, the ACC will go silent in panic and fear. Leafs have been riding high lately, winning some games they probably didn't deserve to win. They could easily start the series overconfident and underwhelming.
That being said, Ullmark sucks in the playoffs, I don't expect him to finish the series strong much like in previous historical Sens playoff collapses vs. the Leafs. Woll should start for the Leafs given his playoff stats are stronger than Stolarz. But obviously, if he doesn't deliver, the Leafs have a solid plan B.

These stats compared between this team and last year are not that encouraging.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/...es-heading-into-playoffs/
Looks like the biggest difference between the Leafs last year and this year is that their goalies were stronger and the division got weaker. Everything else though, doesn't bode well for the idea that Berube has made this team better.
Leafs scored way less goals this year and allowed way fewer but the goal differential was basically the same. Again, better defending or just better goaltending? Giveaways are astronomically higher, takeaways are lower, 5v5 and possession numbers are all way worse.
Way fewer hits, same blocked shots and special teams the same; which most agreed needed to be way better to succeed in the playoffs.
The Leafs are going to have to take full advantage of the easier 1st round match-up for once and hope their shooting % takes a timely spike (and SV% stays sky high) because this team might not actually be better than ones we have seen in the past. |

(frank)ing terrible news for them. Heiskanen might not be ready to play to begin the series either.
Fully healthy, I think Dallas is the deepest, strongest lineup in the NHL. Without these 2.... I'm having a hard time not to give the edge to Colorado because Makar and Mackinnon are just too freaking good.

All your points are valid but Mac is slightly damaged too. I also wouldn't trust the goaltending in Colorado against Jake Oettinger, especially in a game 7 situation. |

Interesting. Brandon Carlo is a great guy. I saw him regularly because we both had dogs in the same part of Boston. And we both have a Bernese Mountain Dog |
