Rosters that were handed to him. What did he do to improve the team since then? Get rid of Goodrow? Get rid of Trouba and Kakko?
He inherited Panarin Kreider Shesty Fox Schneider Miller Zib etc etc.
He signed Trocheck, good signing.
Extended Zib, good at the time.
But his trades have been HORRIFIC.
Remember when he signed Nemeth and then had to give up (2) 2nd round picks a year later just to get rid of him??? BRILLIANT. - nyrangers9479
You know who had more pts than Kakko this year? Patrick Kane |

That’s another one too. I still am fine with the Borgen/Kakko trade. Under a different system where the forwards actually try in their own zone Borgen will be solid moving forward |

Provorov or Gavrikov- Fox
Miller - Borgen
Robertson - Schneider

That corp with a new coach should be pretty good. Miller is the key to the whole team. He needs to be good. 2 yrs bridge deal for 6 AAV is reasonable for both parties. So we’ll give you money but we need to see more over the next two years. Borgen made Miller a better player i don’t care what anyone tries to say. They have chemistry as a pair |

He hired Gallant that got them to the ECF the first time. Then he hired Lavi who wont the Presidents trophy and ECF last year.
Last year Wennberg scores an OT goal in Game 3 of the ECF and Roslovic played a major role in Game 6 comeback win verse Carolina to clinch the series. Both players he traded for.
In 2022 he traded for Frank Vatrano and Andrew Copp who both were players that helped them get to the ECF
Like I said this past year was bad but he has made good moves in the past that helped the team have success. - TPC
He gave up a 1st round pick for Copp. Ridiculous overpay. When has he ever traded a 1st or 2nd for a player we get to watch for more than 30 games? Reilly Smith who he then traded half a season later for a 3rd round pick? He’s a joke of a GM. |

Those players literally played an impact to help the team get to the ECF twice. Just cause you don’t like the value doesn’t mean they were bad trades. The point is to try to win when your core is all in their 30s. The core he “inherited” as you say |

I’m not entirely upset about his trades. But personality and team culture needs to be addressed. Sakic traded Ratannen and it didn’t affect the moral of the team… Carolina got him, and shipped him back out, and the team recovered. Ours seemed to have unraveled. Gallant was shocked at being let go… Jim Ramsey stepped down… there’s something that needs to be fixed beyond a simple trading players, new coaching staff, etc. something is up, and unless it is fixed, whatever new core we have will only get tainted and the youth will eventually quit as well… they are quitting to make a point… regardless if people agree or not. The games they lost they could have won… they know how to play, but held back and let it all go. I don’t think Kreider wants to leave, but will if things don’t change. Id rather new coach and new gm than trade everyone. Problem will still be there and future free agents will want to see culture fixed, otherwise we have zero hope of brining in people, no matter how much money we dish out. |

So you don’t count years 2 and 4 when they went to the ECF of getting it right? It’s what I don’t get. Yea this was a bad year but that means the other years don’t count at all? So if a team doesn’t win the cup every year their GM must suck then - TPC
And again, those teams were carried by their PP, once the PP stop producing, they lost so those teams were severely flawed but masked by the PP scoring and Igor. Igor SP in the playoffs is like .936 |

Which is why he’s in the process of blowing up the team. Phase 1 is complete. Phase 2 started after Sam’s last game
You’ll figure it out eventually Brukie |

But is that not completely abnormal how this all played out? Is it not abnormal how players are talking about their experience here?
Is it not alarming that despite the success in the prior 4 years, this team never addressed the problems that plague this team?
Is it not concerning that the excessive use of draft picks and the lack of a farm team hasnt yielded a championship like it has for Tampa, Vegas and Florida? |

Your poop just doesn’t make sense. I don’t care about what happened before as much as what’s to come but all you do is move the goalposts and then complain no one is happy lol
Yea we shouldn’t be happy and we should be impatient. If you wanna kiss drurys ass go ahead but it’s over the top |

Jim Nill…let’s talk about him. GM of Dallas since 2013 (12 years)…ain’t won a damn thing. Regarded as one of the better GMs in the league
Drury has at least 7 years left to get to Jim Nills level of expertise |

Well, lets see... Nill took over a team that didnt make the playoffs for 5 consecutive years and his first move was a blockbuster trade for Seguin. But more importantly he has the respect of the players, which, Im not sure Drury has right now. Nill is considered one of the best because, for the most part, everyone playing on the Stars was drafted by Nill. That team top to bottom is a Stanley Cup contender. Nill cant go out there and play for them, but that team he put together is fantastic. |

This… there is a reason Ranntanan wanted to go there too. In 12 years, yes no Stanley cup, the culture is one where players wanted to be there and enjoy being there. We’ve had more negative news the past year than most teams go through in a decade. I think we used to have a culture that players wanted to come to. That’s broken right now and the players around the league see that.
I vote Drury and Coaching staff out… then build from there. |

Thing is, Nill makes rational moves. He also doesnt abuse his draft picks which is how he ends up drafting Hintz, Heiskenen, Oettinger, Robertson, Harley, Johnston, Stankoven (which turned into Rantanen). That 2017 draft alone added 5 to 10 years to Nill's longevity with the team. |

This is my thing with Drury. The team he is building, not inherited, isn’t ripe yet. Just like Nills team weren’t ripe yet, until the last few years
I may get a point where I agree Drury should be fired, I just don’t think it’s here yet. It’s unfinished business with him. People don’t like his tactics with players (who btw generally stink) about getting them out of town
Lavy isn’t getting enough blame for all these unhappy campers either. Drury isn’t scratching and handing out the minutes to these guys |

This is only the stuff we know about.
Also the moves hes made have been a bit meh.
It will be interesting to see what the off-season holds for Zib after he said in an interview that, "both sides knew what they were doing when I signed the contract". |
