I'm gonna steal the phrase 'urine and feces infested heart' as soon as my possible. I might start a fight with my fiancée just to use it. I love you man.

I tried convincing Mrs Wods that a 5pm dinner would be great rather than the traditional 7pm start. She didn’t bite, so I suggested a less formal setting - everyone grab a plate, gather around a TV of your choice and have a nice relaxing dinner. That suggestion just got the chicken look and a “You need to clean up the herb pots this morning.”
She doesn’t care, fellas.

I've come to the conclusion being married and being a Leaf fan is a good thing. It helps us men realise how our wives feel. All that hope and promise and the inevitable and eventual let down and disappointment.

Mrs Tool knows she's the boss but she also knows boss status is deactivated during Leaf games. It's family lunch and then predrinking during jays all the way to the final buzzer of game 1

My girl is currently at work til 3. Our current debate is whether to watch the game at home with beer, burgers, and poutine or to head out to Fatty Patty’s (we’ve checked, it’s open) and have draft beer, better burgers, and better poutine while still watching the game. We’ll see how she feels after work.

Go Leafs Go.

I'm a basement guy too. Usually bourbon and beer for me. We recently had our backyard gutted of grass and the old shed and nasty ass garden and did all concrete with pergolas and gazebos. So el wifeo last year got a projector and screen and we watch the playoffs outside. too cold tonight but maybe it warms up quickly. we only have 7 to 14 days of hockey left

This is a bit pessimistic, let's see what happens first.
But on the other hand the pessimist is informed optimist.

Oh I certainly wouldn’t mind but as I said she’s the one working, which is what got us out of any family gathering *dances a little*, and the idea of going out for game 1 was hers so she gets the call. The place she’s suggesting makes Caesars she loves as well so that might make her lean that way as well.

That being said we still made sure we had what we needed here, and I’ve already got the “Happy Easter” phone calls out of the way, now it’s simply relaxation time, the baileys in the coffee was a nice touch and yes, I’ll admit it, I enjoyed an early 4:20 pipe

Preping meat balls for the night and I am not even Italian, but their food is great.
I am not sure Italians would eat my cooking though. My wife does not eat meat, so I have to do it myself, I am fine with this.

So basically, you’re making meat balls that might not get eaten which means you’ll simply end up with a bunch of meat balls you can eat yourself?

If that happens I’d envy you lol

Seriously

Meatballs will likely happen here sometime this week now

Yes, pretty much. I was professional cook in previous life for years, not anymore, so it does not take me time and effort for such simple things. Left the kitchen more than 20 years ago.

I worked as one but nothing special, just a supervisor in a BP kitchen as I got through college 25 years ago. I wasn’t super talented or anything but it was easy work, especially at night, so I’d cut everyone off (highschool kids who wanted to go) after rush and cleanup and just hangout the rest of the night having a beer or two and a j out back making whatever the folks in the bar wanted. Just did my homework for Mohawk right in the kitchen lol. Boss loved me tho since I cut everyone off so early it made everything so cheap, he used to get me stuff like Hip tickets, I’ll always remember that night, he called me into the office when I got there, told me not to get into the work clothes, said I was still getting paid but I wasn’t working. Handed me and my buddy who was server two tickets and said “have fun boys”. Good bosses always made sure they show appreciation for good workers

Always liked working in a restaurant, too bad it didn’t pay better lol

Nice story. To be cook is not easy work, working later, sometimes until 4 am, under the heat and pressure. It is fine when you young, but when you get older it becomes the problem. In Soviet Union it was mostly woman, who worked in kitchen, I don't think I ever seen man cooking there. But these 300 pound woman were different kind, they could stop running horses without sweating. On the West it is opposite, woman rarely can be seen in the kitchen.
My last 5 years were in Mexican Bistro.

It was entertaining, hard fought game by two heavy and skilled teams.
But all attention now for tomorrow. Starting drinking at 3, should be ready by 7 to take it without pain.

You tied to the Soviet Union? I’m not but my family is close, my grandfather and great grandparents (all RIP) and my great uncle (he’s still ticking, that’s Warren Rychel’s dad actually) all came from Poland right after WWII so I kind of get what you’re saying about who handled the kitchen work. I was the first born of my grandfather’s first born (my mom) so my great grandparent’s were still ticking along just fine as I grew up. I’m pretty sure the only time I saw my great grandpa in the kitchen was when he was there at the table to eat my great grandma’s food lol.

And now I want meatballs and tacos, and quesadillas, and enchiladas, and burritos….. and uh oh… there’s a nice little Mexican place by the place we might be going to… I may be returning home with something even with a full belly… that’s allowed on Easter right? lol
