This is the part baffles me. We knew heading into this season that poop was going down. You don’t lose a series up 2-0 (on the road btw) and get eliminated, and then lose in the ECF and expect nothing to happen (to the players). Gallant took the heat vs NJ and then the players (leadership) took the heat vs Florida. Now if Drury goes status quo what good does that do? They still aren’t/weren’t good enough because they proved that
I don’t understand what Drury was supposed to do heading into this season. Nothing was the answer I guess🤷🏻♂️ which he would’ve gotten ripped to shreds for too

This isn’t intended to start anything, I’m generally confused at what he was supposed to do - Slimtj100
I mean all he did was trade for Reilly smith… maybe he tried other things but that was the end result. I think a lot of people expected more to be done in pursuit of taking the next and final step. I genuinely don’t believe you are actually this confused |

Well perhaps he should have given the group another shot at it with the same coach 2 years in a row. He basically forced 2 locker rooms leaders out and under estimated their presence in the locker room. Maybe not publicly announce he is trading anyone and everyone. To say this is a poop show is an understatement. Lets see what happens on July 1st. |

see, this is the part where the snarky comment gets made back to you and then you say something along the lines of "why do you always do that"
that's why you may be the biggest nozzle here

TJ. I believe you are smarter than what you are letting on. Take that how you will. All of the other words in my post still apply and I eagerly await your response. Hope you’re not a big meanie about it because I may decide to start ruining the blog to prove how well adjusted I am |

Let’s pump the brakes on Trouba for a moment. While I understand his wanting to stay in New York for personal reasons, his contract called for him to submit a list of teams that he would accept a trade to, or was a list of teams he didn’t want to go to?
That list was due to go into effect on July 1st. Drury either asked for the list a day or two before, or his agent submitted the list a day or so early. If in fact Drury asked for the list early it signaled to Trouba and his agent that Drury planned to move him, and use the cap savings on July 1st to improve the team. Thats his job.
Whatever Drury had planned went down the drain when Trouba agent informed every team in the league, don’t trade for him he’s not reporting. Trouba then did everything in his power to destroy the room because he was unhappy with the way things were handled
“It’s not personal Sonny, it’s just business”.
.
There is enough blame to go around here but I can’t place any more of it on Drury than Trouba and his camp. |

IMO, we are seeing now that the environment around these players has been terrible for months now. That is a reflection of the way Drury has been going about his business. Not the decisions to make changes, but the way they were conducted when interacting with the players. I said it the other day, Drury has run this team like a fantasy squad. Like they have no ramifications to their personal lives from his choices.
The players are responsible in that they didn't play well enough to avoid changes to the roster. But, Drury shares the responsibility for not handling the situation well and making it worse.
I am confused that you give him a pass on this. Yes, changes were needed. But, not these changes.

Funny too how they over paid Goodrow to come here because he was a guy they wanted for the playoffs, he gets here plays through the season with a broken jaw and a shield. His team mates see him as a per say warrior playing through it, come playoff time scores 6 goals with 4th line minutes, 2 less than Mika and Panarin COMBINED and Drury treats him like a POS. Drury in his infinite wisdom basically just forced him out the door. Thats the definition of mismanagement.
Blaming the wrong guy for the teams failure. |

did i really say something that offensive as to "start something"?
TJ. I sincerely apologize for saying that i believe you understand what we are saying better than you let on. Not that you have to agree with it. Just that you understand it when you say you don't. That was my bad. And again, I apologize for being so hurtful as to derail the entire blog. |

You truly are the most positive person Ive ever encounter as a Ranger fan. Nothing wrong with it as I was when I was younger, too much bitterness over the years for me to remain positive but I commend you for your energy.
But you do realize that the team had the best season and made it to the ECF with the coach in his first year? Yes flawed but still good results. To do what Drury did was IMO and most others a bad decision. |

Dude i tried to respond to both the substance and your own snark, in kind, in a playful-ish way. It's not my fault you and the other guy who you are related to but definitely don't share any similarities with and each individually have your own lives and opinions and emotions get thrown off by mine or anyone elses bullpoop on here. No matter how inane or silly. Stop taking everything so seriously and personally. Again I remind you of your vile DM's that you sent me that I immediately looked past and moved on from. 100000% worse than anything i would dream of saying to anyone. Respond to my substance, joke back with me, or just don't respond |

Are we or are we not a better team with JT miller over Trouba? Because that’s essentially what he was trying to do the whole time. Regarding getting rid of Trouba |

So again. With 0% snark.
I THINK most people who think Drury has at least some blame here would point to this past offseason. The lack of any meaningful change. Forget about Trouba and Goodrow. Just the net result of adding Reilly Smith. Even if things didn't go horribly wrong, likely wouldn't have been enough to push us over the edge.
This does not mean that players weren't also to blame. It does not mean the coaching staff isn't to blame. poop man I'll take some blame too. I could've been better. We all could have. Everything sucked by almost everyone |
