Trouba and Goody $ situation is why they left.. Vesey is a dime a dozen player..same as kakko
- rrentz

Trading Trouba and removing Goody's cap hit not only created the cap space to acquire JT Miller but more importantly, allowed Drury to extend Igor which would have been a HUGE distraction if it wasn't done!

Which also puts Patrick Roy's status at risk

Or plot twist. Roy made GM/coach. Wasn’t that a rumored thing last year? We’ll have to ask chiefs🤔

Could be. He would want that role. Not sure org goes in that direction and have to presume there will be a broad search.

Igors Cap hit doesnt take effect till next season, so it wasnt that urgent to do so.

If a team was relying on Trouba or goody to be a contender then they have way bigger problems on that roster and org

I don't think that was an actual rumor. But I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Roy made the move to the front office either. He was the coach/GM in the QMJHL with Quebec.

I think Patrick would a better GM than coach. I'd rather have a GM from Tampa, Dallas, or Colorado. I would not have Patrick getting the GM job though.

Lou should have been fired for those moves alone. The post mentioned Lou was still going to look for a job.

This nfl offseason feels like the longest one ever for me, a giants fan. Just waiting to get to the draft. It’s gonna feel like an eternity getting to July 1 as a Rangers fan

It's much better than the lousy NHL offseason which barley lasts two days.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, was ready to ship both Trouba and Goody out the door. The costs grossly outweighed the benefits. End of story.

The Monday morning quarterbacking on this is wild. And it’s crazy to see people who complained about both flip their comments to fit a different narrative now…

- jimbro83

For the record, we're in the same ballpark - started watching the Leafs in 1977 (I was 7 at the time). So we know.
