I don't know if I told you this story, but last year I visited her in March for the Leafs @ Habs game.

So after the game, I said, "You're going out with your dad for a beer.'

"OK, fine, where do you want to go?"

"We're going to the epicentre of Montreal's nightlife - we're going to Crescent Street! I'll let you pick the bar - what's your favourite?"

"Dad, nobody goes to Crescent Street."

"What the hell are you talking about? It's the premier party street."

I dragged her there. We went to a place I knew would be hopping - Churchills!

We sat at the bar, ordered a couple of beers, and she said, "Dad, I'm the youngest person in here by 30 years."

I have never felt older in my life. Apparently Montreal has changed since the early 1990s.

Don't feel bad, whenever friends ask me where we should hang out in Montreal, I feel completely out of the game because all my usual spots are certainly not considered like "the place to be" anymore.

to be fair, montreal has some pretty sweet dive bars

Finished making our plans to go to the East Coast on vacation. Was telling my mom and dad, my mom chimes in "Go to this place, ohhh and this place!" My dad looks at her and rolls his eyes "It's been 40 years since we were there, none of that poop is still open."
