yeah, also what I thought.
my point was, once you have Suzuki and Larkin as your 1-2, it's much easier to find a winger than a center.

While that may be true, I'll never stress enough how trading a 35-40 goal scorer on a team that doesn't score a whole lot is a bad idea.

Hell if he was at his regular spot on the powerplay, Caufield would have scored at least 40 this year, I'm sure of it.

I highly doubt DET would want picks and prospects. I think they'll want a deal like BUF did with Cosenz.

Yzerman is enamored with old slow defensemen and backup goalies. It's a shame Savard is retiring because he would have loved to do Larkin for Savard, Montembeault and Newhook.

I am just managing expectation this 4 games playoffs run will bring…

You are right. This is very thin…

Problem with Laine is that he hurts you…. Better put a grinder in the lineup who can contribute at least with some robustness…. Or bring Arber on the 4 and double shift some guys…. What do they have to lose anyway? They are about to get swept anyway…

They need to sign a 2C as I don’t think trading is an option to avoid hurting the core.

An hostile offer is also an option…. Did not work well with Aho but who knows !

thank you for managing our expectations...

Talking about next year playoff is again just plain stupid, this one is not over, it was basically a 3-2 OT lost and a 2-1 lost ( dont care about the empty netter with 1 sec left)), againts the # 1

Conversations might be a whole different if Evans could shot the puck in an god damm empty net

Next year will depend a whole lot on that expected trade for a 2c

we will see then

We need a new team to start their rebuild to get the player we need through trades. Teams like Detroit are trying to build and won't get rid of a player like Larkin.

This being said, who might start a rebuild this summer?

The Pens? They should and I'd consider Malkin for the right price but I doubt they'll trade him.

Islanders? Bo Horvat or Matthew Barzel would absolutely work.

Bruins? They got nothing that would solve our need.

I think that's about it no?

At this point, is Malkin even really a full time centre?

If he wasn't cooked, Couturier would be an interesting option. Granlund in the offseason would be good, playing wing in Dallas but was a centre for San Jose and Finland.

Yeah, Granlund or Nelson as a UFA would be decent options for the short term.

As I said, we are not that far but we are still not there…

We just need to be patient but rational…

That playoff run is cool but honestly… we were joy there yet and it is important to not cloud our evaluation of the team!
