meh. to be perfectly honest, if NYR don't (frank) up Habs do not make the playoffs.
even if they do get a #2C this summer it is far from certain they'll make the playoffs next year.

another big surprise this season yes. many thought they'd be in. but they didn't end last season 1st overall like NYR did. anyway, my point was, it is far from certain Habs will make the playoffs next season. with or without a #2C.

That's the usual fate of the 2nd wildcard especially a team in a rebuildish mode. It's always about next steps, you don't want to be in the Leafs 1 and done nightmare.

I probably wouldn't put a whole bunch of money on the habs winning the series but as a fan I do still enjoy considering the idea, a good underdog story is always nice.
