It's true. The league isn't going to grow until Bettman and the old boys are gone and they let the game grow organically. There are people who love the stupid rough stuff - but the market wants tough hockey not suicidal hockey. It turns people off. So does completely inconsistent officiating.

Name me any other sport where the rules are completely different in the playoffs.

Basketball? Lacrosse? These are fast moving games that don't throw out rules because it's the playoffs.

Baseball? Strike zone doesn't change because it's the playoffs.

But hockey? God knows!
