If Jackson Smith drops to us, which he wont, I think we gotta take him. Otherwise I like this kid Aitchenson. |

I still think it’s incredibly foolish to not hand the pick over to Pitt if it’s outside the top 3 when next years draft is so stacked |

Parsinnen signing leaves the Rangers with around $8.422 million in cap space. They still have other RFAs to sign (Cuylle, Miller, Rempe, Edström, etc.). - jimbro83
Which is why I am a little surprised this was a priority. Plus, I am highly concerned about an offer sheet for Cuylle |

Does this really show any sort of priority?
Teams are generally looking at re-signing their RFA/UFA's once their season is done and this signing has next to no impact on the cap as if something better comes along or you need cap space he can pretty much be buried except 100k.
Start making offers to the guys who you want in your organization next year, some sign right away others will wait. |

Supposedly he was a player Drury wanted for awhile. He/they must see something in him
They REALLY need center depth too. This should put Jake Lyshesynynyn out to pasture once and for all lol |

I never thought about an offer sheet. I was looking at all of this last night on Puckpedia. The big questions are obviously will K'Andre sign for what they truly should be offering him, based on his on-ice play? (~$4M) And, what do they do with Cuylle? He deserves to not get a bridge deal. But, can the Rangers do anything other than a bridge with the space we have? So, do they move out someone like Kreider to give more to Cuylle? I personally hope it's not Kreider, but options are limited. |

Wasn't the running joke all year that any younger player that NSH wants to get rid of that you should jump on him

So who's Drury going to hire in 2 years when Sullivan can put out the dumpster fire his boss keeps adding fuel to? |

welp, Sullivan got 5 year deal
my guess is that Drury would actually be fired before Sullivan if this doesn't get turned around

For sure. Coaches Like Sullivan don't fall in your lap too often. |

I don’t think rangers get Sullivan if not for Drury. I honestly see them working hand in hand in roster decisions rather than before where Drury was just handing Lavi players |

But, it had to be a huge gamble. There was no way to guarantee things would go the way they did to green light the firing of Lavy. |

I’ve wondered what this hire does for Kreider. Because it wasn’t assumed Sullivan would be the new HC at all really. Maybe Sully smooths things over where they keep him. We know Kreider was hurt all season so maybe he stays and can have a renaissance season |

I feel the Rangers and Ducks are a bit in the same boat. Players clearly not giving it their all under previous coaches so there is a reason to not make drastic moves based off of last season and receive pennies on the dollar.
With that being said the difference would be age and some guys just might not bounce back regardless of them trying hard. |

This roster in no way resembles the style Sully likes to play. Upbeat, fast skating, and no #87. Then again none of the recent coaches got the team they wanted when they came to NY.
Unless Drury pulls a rabbit out if his hat it's going to be a bumpy road. |

Kreider legit was hurt all season with various things. I’m sure his age doesn’t help, but a full offseason will help him heal and could have a bounce back season. My point is, he isn’t Trouba or Goodrow where his play on the ice makes the cap hit very uncomfortable. Kreids could be really good next season with a fresh mindset. This year I imagine was very hard on him

One would have to hope that Sully told Drury he can coach the team to their strengths and not hire a guy that is the complete opposite type of coach the team needs.
Sure maybe Sully is the best available coach, but you better damn well hope if you are Drury that you guys are on the same page.
The whole coach/general manager relationship gets me questioning things a lot. Sometimes it's as if the GM and Coach don't even talk until year end exit meetings. |

That rabbit could be sully tho. He will make a world of difference for them out there
Rangers were verrrrrrrrrry lazy this season and that will not happen now. For whatever reason, Lavy just let it slide it seemed like. |
