Agreed. I just hope he lets them play with emotion/physicality. One of the reasons I hated AV was bc he was a turn the other cheek coach. Didn’t want teammates standing up for each other (taking a penalty sometimes to do so) etc. Used to staple guys to the bench as soon as they stood up for each other. If that’s how Sullivan is, it’s going to be a long 5 years. But if he allows that side of the game, I think he can bring some structure to this team. - nyrangers9479
Well he let them do it at 4 nations lol |

This honestly seems like a constant, repetitive thing with these coaches. No one likes to play the kids... Gallant, Lavy, now Sully. - aecliptic
Truthfully its because of the "Win now" mode. Cant let a rookie in and have him make mistakes that can cost you a game and move down in the standings. Teams like the Habs and Sens let their teams grow and did a smart rebuild. They are definitely on their way up. |

Ya, the love for Sully is kind of overdone IMO. I’m willing to see what he brings to the table, but he definitely wouldn’t have been my first choice. - nyrangers9479
Breaking it down, Sully coached one NHL team, one with Sid, Geno, Letang and MAF, won 2 Cups and then nothing but one series in 8 years, so for me the jury is out. It was said that Drury and Sully have been friends for years which is the part that bothers me, are you going to hire him because he sees things as you do because you are friends or because that its the right thing for the team.
This summer will be interesting to say the least. Will Drury be able to turn the roster over? We will see. |

That theres the possibility that going after Sullivan was premeditated. That he needed this team to be horrible to fire Lavy and hire Sully. Youre not firing Lavy if this team plays decent and makes the playoffs. - aecliptic
So you’re suggesting Drury and the players tanked the season to get Sully as a coach? I still don’t get what you’re saying |

Im not saying the players were in on it, but the way Drury handled business last season is a bit suspicious and that he put them in that position. |

Right - I can understand not liking Drury, but that’s one of the dumbest takes I’ve seen.
So Drury was intentionally tanking the team when he made a, imo great, trade for Miller? |

Would you rather some silly, fun conspiracy nonsense on a Saturday or should we call Brukie, tj, jim, et. al. to come have a chat in here for a few pages? |

He HATES physical players who can't skate like the wind. We got Wilson'd well before Panarin, so JR went out and addressed that issue...see Reaves, Ryan, Oleksiak, Jamie, Gudbranson, Erik etc. None lasted long with us. Sully hated them all, would play them a minimal amount until JR had no choice but to dump them. I can't see him giving a guy like Rempe any chance at all.
He also is the most stubborn coach I've seen. Zero adjustments even they are obvious to even us couch coaches. His only way to play is a young, fast team that forechecks/backchecks 100 MPH all game. Worked great when our core was all late 20's and in their prime, hence 2 Cups. Doesn't work well when your core is mid 30's, hence the end of our long playoff streak and not a sniff since. Looking at your current roster, seems your core are mostly on the wrong side of 30 as well.
Finally, he WILL NEVER get on a vet for poor play/ lack of effort. Bottom 6, no problem, they will be benched/sent to the AHL, but not the core players. Last season I watched FU65 play the worst D I've ever seen in 40+ years of watching. Geno(as much as I hate to say it) takes nights off. That crybaby Reilly Smith lollygagged around the bases for 5 months because he wanted to go back to Vegas(boo f'n hoo). NONE EVER SAT A SINGLE SHIFT.

If we played starting goalies a few years ago we never would’ve made it to the ECF |

It’s over, they posted the stat Deboer is 8-0 in game 7. From that moment on, this game was over. |
