You guys are never going to have a productive conversation. Gotta just ignore each other. If not for yourselves, for the rest of us.

That is why when you can get a true playoff performer you do it.

I understand why the Avs traded him but the guy is a beast in the playoffs, how they didnt sign him and make it workout is hard to believe.

Will go down as one of the worst trades in Avs history.

He put the team on his back. You could see his determination every shift. No one was stopping him. I haven’t seen a player take over a game like that in a long time.

GM definitely was overthinking the situation and blew his load.

After that beautiful snipe on the first goal, ironically considering the saying, looked like a weight lifted off his soldier.

Damn, one of the Bolts top prospects, Issac Howard, doesnt want to sign with them. Hobey Baker award winner, 52 points in 37 games for Michigan State. The one pick they ended up keeping and not trading away doesnt want to be there. Rough.

Cant blame him though, he wont really get a shot to play with them being stuck behind Guentzel, Hagel and Paul.

Looking at the teams still in the playoffs. Theres quite a few teams needing a LW, and would benefit from his ELC. Outside of Knies, Leafs got no one at LW. Outside of Verhaeghe, theres room to get into that lineup ahead of Rodrigues and Luostareinen, Vegas could use a LW, a position at LW might open up soon on the Caps, Canes could potentially use a LW... he should have a lot of options.

Still playing behind Cuylle and Panarin, plus LAF is still on his off wing.

Assuming Zib continues to play RW, all that does is free up a spot for LAF to go back to his natural LW and open up a spot for Gabe on the right.

I’d say it’s 90% likely he starts the season as a NYR. I’d say that goes down to 50/50 come deadline depending on how the team is looking.

But it would be a huge miss if we didn’t get some assets to move him at the deadline. Look at what NYI got for Nelson.

If we could get a 1st 2nd and few prospects for Panarin, similar to how COL traded Rantannen, I think you have to do it.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Sully is none of what you want and everything you hated about AV, but worse. He HATES physical players who can't skate like the wind. We got Wilson'd well before Panarin, so JR went out and addressed that issue...see Reaves, Ryan, Oleksiak, Jamie, Gudbranson, Erik etc. None lasted long with us. Sully hated them all, would play them a minimal amount until JR had no choice but to dump them. I can't see him giving a guy like Rempe any chance at all.

He also is the most stubborn coach I've seen. Zero adjustments even they are obvious to even us couch coaches. His only way to play is a young, fast team that forechecks/backchecks 100 MPH all game. Worked great when our core was all late 20's and in their prime, hence 2 Cups. Doesn't work well when your core is mid 30's, hence the end of our long playoff streak and not a sniff since. Looking at your current roster, seems your core are mostly on the wrong side of 30 as well.

Finally, he WILL NEVER get on a vet for poor play/ lack of effort. Bottom 6, no problem, they will be benched/sent to the AHL, but not the core players. Last season I watched FU65 play the worst D I've ever seen in 40+ years of watching. Geno(as much as I hate to say it) takes nights off. That crybaby Reilly Smith lollygagged around the bases for 5 months because he wanted to go back to Vegas(boo f'n hoo). NONE EVER SAT A SINGLE SHIFT.

So sounds like more of the same. Great.

Like you said, depends on where we are at the TDL. Could definitely see Drury selling him if we're out of it.
