Like you said, depends on where we are at the TDL. Could definitely see Drury selling him if we're out of it.
- Fenrir

Even if we’re “in it” similar to COL, depending on the return, I think you have to trade him anyway.

Look at NYI with Tavares, I bet if they could do that over 100 times out of 100 they trade him. Panarin isn’t exactly dynamite come playoff time anyway. I say let Cuylle and Laf be the top 6 LW this year and move forward with the youth movement.

Finding 2 RW is easier than putting Zib there and finding a 2C.

I’d 100% expect Berard to be full time under Sullivan. He seems made for Sullivan Id bet he loves him. He is ideal for the 3rd line you have listed

My only issue with Berard being in the lineup also, is we have 3 HUGE question marks. Perrault Othmann Berard all have alot to prove in terms of scoring. Having 3 guys like that (and possibly Edstrom) might be too much for the other guys to carry.

If next year was a learning/growing year, accepting the growing pains, sure. But I don’t think that’s Drury’s plan.

Maybe Edstrom top 9 (3rd line) and Berard with Carrick and Rempe?

I wholeheartedly agree that Zib should be put back at C. However, I think there are far more question marks around Othmann than there are around Berard. I think a 3rd line of... Berard, Trocheck, Edstrom... could be a really solid line.

If there is a trade to be made for Othmann, I think its something they should look into. Ive mentioned Alex Tuch a ton, if we could trade Othmann for Tuch, I think that could solidify our top 9.

They will need cheap ELC options, it’s probably unavoidable. I’d also expect Perrault starting in Hartford so Berard is probably a lock for opening night

I’m not saying Othmann is a can’t miss prospect. But I’d hate to trade him before we know what we have in him.

I’d say it’s 90% likely he starts the season as a NYR. I’d say that goes down to 50/50 come deadline depending on how the team is looking.

But it would be a huge miss if we didn’t get some assets to move him at the deadline. Look at what NYI got for Nelson.

Ritchie (27 OA in 2023)
1st next year (worth more than this year)
3rd in 2027

If we could get a 1st 2nd and few prospects for Panarin, similar to how COL traded Rantannen, I think you have to do it.

- nyrangers9479

Id trade him in heartbeat, he definitely comes up short in the playoffs and is a defensive liability. It will be up to him if he wants to be moved or not.

I can’t imagine with everything that’s gone on, if Drury went to him and said he doesn’t want him here anymore Panarin would refuse to submit a list.

Drury would be in no postion to do anything to him. Cant sit him, it would be a public relations disaster which Im sure the union would file a bunch of grievances.

Despite his offensive woes in the playoffs, hes still our best offensive player and one of the best in the league... so all of this is kind of silly to talk about. Youre not replacing the 100 points that he can put up.

We were also, notoriously, a one line team. So when you start playing the best teams and best coaches in the league, its not difficult to game plan against us. Florida didnt beat us solely because they were more physical (lets not forget we were leading the series 2-1), they were able to do it while also not taking penalties. Stay out of the box, force us to play 5v5, which is no secret we struggled to score at, and you immediately give yourself a better chance to win.

If the rangers re-sign Lindgren, that would be funny ruining the lives of many a Ranger fan

Hopefully this is where Sullivan comes in. They have to be better 5 on 5, especially forechecking. Someone mentioned last night on tv that we had a league low 5 goals off forechecking turnovers this year

I dont mind Lindgren if hes not playing top pairing minutes. Its not that people dont like him, its that Fox needs a better partner. Also questions about how much he will want on a new contract, the length of that contract considering the way he plays. If they want to give him 4m per, play him sub 18m per game and play him with Borgen, I think that could work.

I said all along I’d give him 4 x 4AAV. I think he would get more then that tho from some other team
