Boeser is 28 years old and in 12 playoff games last year he had 7 goals. He wants to leave vancouver

Obviously trading someone would have to happen for the salary he would take up. But I think that’s the guy they might go after

- Slimtj100

I agree, I think of the free agents he’s the most realistic one.

I also think there will be a surprise move this offseason to free up space.

3 hours til the lotto! We feeling lucky!?

I get the love for Boeser, but personally, Id rather try to make a trade for Tuch. However neither of these is a good idea if coaching/management insists on playing Zib at RW.

Despite all that, I still think there needs to be more emphasis on figuring out the defense.

Well, in Russian, theres a saying... "God loves things in 3's".

We jumped the lottery in 2019 and got 2nd, won the lottery in 2020 and got 1st, this could be #3 where we jump the lottery and get the 3rd pick.

I am confident that Cuylle is what he is. In a year where everyone else struggled, he seemed to find a way to put up solid numbers, which dipped (as you would expect) when the Rangers were at their worst in the middle of the year.

If they could get him for like 5m x 7y I would do it in a heart beat.

I think I would, too. But, my point was that unless Kreider (I hope not) or someone else making significant money, is moved out, we don't have the cap space to give him that. Unless we just walk away from K'Andre without any sort of offer.

Thing with Boeser for me is he’s only 28 and that’s a good Age to give years to. That’s 4-5 prime years. And he played with miller. Obviously he would replacing someone with a hefty cap hit

Well, Miller is a RFA, so we would get something back in return. Not sure what it is.

However, yes, the money doesnt work unless someone moves.

The most pleasing thing would be Panarin. In a lot of ways. I get the pts he produces but it would almost be like the Yankees letting go Soto where it gives the rangers a tremendous amount of wiggle room to do a few things

I talk to myself more and more about this and it makes the most sense 😂

So I’ll stand in the same spot as I was with the Laf ball and see what happens. I forget where I was for the Kakko lottery pick

People arent disagreeing with your thoughts on trading Panarin, we just cant go into it without a known commodity in return. The same reason people are skeptical on Bennett, is the same for Boeser... the contract demands could be a bit much.

We also still need to sign atleast 1, if not 2 defensemen.

With Kakko I was watching on my phone from a work trip in SF. For laf I was on my couch at my old forest hills apartment

Boeser can only be an option if zib, Panarin or laf are moved. I don’t think Kreider leaving would leave enough on his own. And I have my doubts any of those 3 are gone

I really think the D corp as a whole will be a night day difference next season. Rangers have good defenseman they just need better coaching/system. They one LHD imo. Otherwise they are fine. I’d keep Miller, 2 years, but I’ve wavered on that daily it seems like

After the Kings lost to the Oilers for the 4th time in a row in the playoffs, it could be a team that might have interest in Panarin. Theyll have a fair amount of cap space. Other than needing to resign Gavrikov and Laferriere, plus getting a backup goalie (Garand?), theyll have 23m in cap space. We shave a couple mil off the top and could potentially have a suitable trade.

Maybe something like Panarin (2.6m retained) & Garand, for a 2026 1st round pick and Liam Greentree

A 55 point RW is going to be worth about $8 million per in 2 years.

The problem is, even if this were to happen, and lets say they sign Cuylle to a 5.5m long-term deal. They still also need to resign KAM, whats he gonna get? If Borgen got 4.1m, you gotta figure KAM will get something like 6m? With those 2 signings, you still dont have enough money to sign Boeser and resign Rempe, Edstrom, start Othmann... you have to get rid of Kreider too.

Oh and the biggest caveat, they still dont have a top pairing defenseman for Fox.
