Ok, so first lottery is the first lottery. If you survive the 1st lottery, you get to try for the 2nd lottery.

Probably not but I didn't read the rules before catching the end.

It is if you refuse to read the rules. And I’m too lazy to do it

I’m less bothered by this than if Pittsburgh got 1OA

We only want #1 picks when we can draft a generational center. We will be there next year.

Another 1st overall pick in the Metro though.

Is he a bust or just not coached properly in a system that suits his play?

Isles get 1 OA, plus next year they’re hosting the skills competition or whatever the hell they’re doing? Give them 1 OA to bring some attention to the events next year? It’s rigged

He’s a bust. Put Crosby, Mathews, McDavid, Hedman etc under the same coaches Laf has had and they’d still be the same players they are. Laf just isn’t a top tier talent.

It's crazy, every single team moved down at least 1 spot except for the Islanders who moved up 9, and Utah who moved up 10.

I dont think LAF was ever marketed as a generational talent. He was marketed as the best player in his draft class, but generational he was not. Everyone and anyone drafting #1 was going to draft LAF, its not like we reached. However, who knows, its still a bit early to put a lid on it and seal it.

I agree, he was never hyped as anything beyond a really good prospect. He got a lot of hype because the lottery was going to be won by one of the early losers in the bubble like the Rangers or Penguins.

The main reason I’d want to give the Pens this years pick is because it’s still a very valuable trade piece for next season. And it’s cover your ass just in case we suck. And it’s a better draft. It’s no brainer for me.

Thinking about the Sharks sitting at #2, if they draft Misa, they should strongly consider trading Will Smith and try to find themselves a franchise defenseman.

A player will succeed if he has the talent, Lafy just isnt high end talent. Probably at best a 70 point guy.

Thats up to Mike Grier if he thinks Key can be a franchise Dman. Based on age, Im guessing they'd rather have Schneider.

Something has to give at some point though right? Celebrini, Smith, Misa...? Thats about as stacked as you can get at C for the future. Sort of like when they had Thornton, Couture, Hertl, and even Pavelski because he had to move to RW to make space. Misa was a winger before moving to C and blowing up, maybe he goes back to wing.
