I don't think he makes it to us at 12 based on what the twitter scouts are saying. Late riser type. I wouldn't take him that high because by all accounts (the experts) he's more of a high floor guy that can be a great 3C and MAYBE a 2C. Which is fine but not going to live up to the top 10 pick status he could end up at. I'd say trade up if you can and get Misa, Hagens, Frondell, Desnoyers, O'Brien, McQueen. The caveat here is that i don't know wtf i'm talking about outside of looking at what others have said.

It’s really a no brainer. God forbid the rangers lose Shesty for an extended period, that could derail the whole season and they’d be the same spot as they’re this year (lottery)

Not every expert shares the same view. But also factoring in is message to team and JT Miller, who they just got. We brought you in and signed Sullivan but gave up this year’s pick because we expect next year’s to be worse. You can argue both sides of the coin over and over. Key is which one presents more risk. If miss the playoffs and that pick moved up like the Isles this year, the blow back would be huge. If make the playoffs, no one bats an eye even if pick becomes a stat because the move to deal that selection was the smarter one on paper
