To lose a game that way is ridiculous. If that was the rangers I wouldn’t be able to sleep lol - TPC
Crazy. I literally don't think I've ever seen that before. |

Were not gonna get anything of value for them, and I dont see Carolina being the kind of team helping a rival with a cap dump. - aecliptic
I was thinking if Zib wanted to play hardball he’d be like ok trade me to Carolina
Zib isn’t a cap dump lol he’s still a good player you guys just hate everything about him for some reason. He was a PPG for the last 33 games 🤷🏻♂️ but whatever. I also think his two years with Lavy made him a lesser player so maybe Sullivan changes that again if he’s here |

Sure but were trading him to get rid of his contract.
Yea 33 games, because Miller basically carried him.
Also, Im at the point where I dont care if they do or dont trade him, however I think to be a Cup contender Zib needs to go back to playing center. |

Why Carolina? If he wanted to play hardball id think the Piles or Devils.
Its obvious if he goes back to being a PPG player this team will be back in contention but watching these playoffs, wow have they been physical, Zibby would be tissue paper because he has never played tough. |

I don’t think they’d dump him then. Theyd want something decent/good for him.
Really depends on what Sullivan thinks. I imagine Drury is giving him the roster and letting him say yay or nay to a whole bunch of guys |

I just figure, its significantly harder to find centers than it is wingers, especially since we have a ton of wingers as is. Having Mika go back to C gives us a solid 1,2,3 punch as long as he can find his interest in playing again. |

At even strength, the difference in minutes between the top 9 is +/- 1 minute. The difference really in TOI comes at special teams. So assuming Sully likes what he has here, doesnt want to make any crazy changes and the Rangers dont want to pay anyone to take a contract... why not go...
Cuylle, Miller, Perreault
Panarin, Trocheck, LAF
Kreider, Zib, Berard
It might be a lot to ask of Perreault to jump into a top 6 role, but I think being insulated by Miller and Cuylle would put him in a position to succeed.
Id run 2 PP units, but Fox stays on the ice to QB both. We go back to the pre-Miller PP that was #1 in the league at one point. (Zib, Troch, Panarin, Kreider, Fox) Then run a second one with Miller, LAF, Cuylle, Perreault, Fox.
As far as Othmann goes, Id consider trading him for a sub-26yo defensive player. Ideally a starter that may still be on an ELC for cap purposes. |

He’s a good player, yes. He’s also an aging good player. Most players start their decline in their early 30’s.
He’s also part of that east west soft as toilet paper identity we’re trying to change about this team.
He needs to go back to being a center if this team is going to have success. Miller Zib Trocheck would be 3 good centers that could cause matchup problems for other teams. One of the reasons I think this team failed down the stretch is bc Drury failed to address the 3C position at the deadline and he thought we’d be fine with Sam Carrick as our 3C. |

Im not one to defend Drury because Ive been pretty steadfast on my opinion of how it was all handled, however... as a first time GM, can Drury not go to the guys in the exit meetings and be like "I fked up"? Just trying to play a little devils advocate. |

Ya, and maybe he can give me the hundreds of dollars back I spent on tickets this season to watch the disgrace he put on the ice.
If we’re talking about holding people accountable he shouldn’t have a job. |

My “defense of Chris Drury”
One simple question needs to be answered…how the hell does he afford Laf, Cuylle, Shesty? And there are more players who need to sign still. I mean we’re worried about offer sheets ffs.
11.75 million on the cap was released free and clear, without retention is a Houdini act and certified as genius in my book. The kicker is we talked about this last season about both these guys needed to go
Impossible to please Ranger fans, it’s as simple as that
The defense rests |

You're fixated on the players lost, when if you listened to Joe, it wasnt entirely about just the players. How was equally important.
Again, as Ive said before about my concerns, if youre a professional hockey player, after seeing how Drury approached and handled those situations... how confident and secure do you feel signing a contract with the Rangers? |

First of all, I’ve made it very clear I wouldn’t be paying a goalie $11 million dollars.
I’d also get rid of Panarin and his $11 million or Fox’s $9+ million.
We also didn’t have Miller and his $8 million when he made these moves and then traded for Smith.
Drury is the one that signed and gave Goodrow his NTC. Don’t forget that little bit of information. |
